That's what the 'x' denotes and it's about time we got AWD BMW's in the UK. I gather that the problem with RHD cars was interference between the front wheel drive transfer box and the steering column, but I hear they've found a way around the problem.

MMMmmmmmm
Put my name down.
For 6am Sunday drives in the Moors or Dales, give me high revving petrol Ms but for everyday motoring, its BMW d-Car's low down power, huge wave of overtaking torque and long distance capability every time. Having one that shifts its arse to 60 in under 5.0 sec. would really be the cherry on the top |

Impressive but I'd still go petrol. These high performance diesels from certain marques just don't sit well with me ie Jaguar and Porsche. It's purely how I perceive the brand.
I'd like to see the torque figures though I heard that when the old V10 Touraegs came out, from a standing start the earth did actually stop spinning for a split second. |

I've had three extended drives of the new F12 640i and every time on returning to my F10 535d, I've found the effortless surge of low-end torque far more satisfying. It's just as quick 0-60 and it does it with a great deal less fuss. Additionally, there's the small matter of 23mpg as opposed to 38. |

Oh I know. I have no problem with the likes of BMW etc producing their diesels. It's just with some brands I think 'Wrong!'. I get the same feeling when I think of the Porsche Cayenne.

Almost confirmed...
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/t...st%29#topicTop ....hopefully out soon, then I can save my pennies to replace the 330d with a loaded M550xd F11, say a 1 yr old, in time for winter 2013. I'm sure the new, loaded, price will be truely eye-watering.

"As for the nitty-gritty of the car, while nothing's confirmed there, we expect a power output in the region of 400bhp, with torque of up to 650lb ft".
Hubba, hubba! Imagine remapping that much power, I bet the ECU will be harder to crack than the security at Fort Knox
