Question Headlight Xenon Halo issue - See updated photos

I recently had the 'yellow light symbol' came up and I'm trying to see if anyone has had this problem with their headlight and if you can advise what could be causing this ? What is the defective 'outer ring' part/bulb called, and if its a DIY repair ?
I've included a couple of photos,as you can see the 'outer ring' is not on. Its for a 2006 325xi sedan, xenon lights, completely stock.
Thanks for any assistance.

** Added photo of passenger side to show the 'Halo' that is on.

Your halo bulb either burnt out or you hit a major bump and it got dislodged a bit. Either way you will have to open the back of the headlight and see.

yes that is a halogen bulb - if it's the same as E92 it's a H8 but verify that

that's one of two bulbs i've had to replace on my car, the other being one of the brake lights.

Question

Thanks for the quick reply.
As I can see my 'bulb' is on and working, but the round 'outer' rings does not light up as you can see in the photos with the arrows, would this still be the 'Halo Bulb' ? Thanks for any info.

Turn on your parking lights and take a look. Both halos and corners should be lit up.

In your pic it doesn't look like the halos are on at all... are you saying that the inner halo is lit but the outer is not? If that is the case you're going to have to get in there and look. There's only one bulb for both, so it may be out of position, or something has broken and is blocking the light from reaching the outer halo.

Is there a separate 'Bulb' for the 'Halo' other than the 'Bulb' that I can see ? I checked the manual but doesn't show anything about the 'Halo' that I could find.
If anyone can let me know how I can fix this, if I can, it would be appreciated.

Your halo bulb is out or shook loose. There are three bulbs one for halo one for daytime running and your xenon which is your night time blueish colored bulb. One bulb lights up both rings. Should be simple fix. Might be a good time to upgrade your halo bulbs.

Thumbs up

Thanks, I was also about to ask about upgrading my Halo bulbs now, and which ones are recommended, I've seen the LED ones online.
Feel free to post any of our member recommendations.

I had these on my old car..

http://www.burgertuning.com/BMW_LED_angel_eyes.html

They are nice and white but no where near as bright as the stock ones on my 2011 coupe.
