Test passed! Heated mirrors present, working and correct .... AFTER I turned the automatic wipe on. Still, great information to know.

Problem Solved......Misted Wing Mirrors

Excellent,

It's been bugging me for some time. Thought that my heated wing mirrors were fcuked this morning, still misted up after a 20 min drive to work.

I have noticed that the rear demister isn't too good - takes ages to clear the mist / dew.

Anyone have any ideas?

7.5 C this AM but a clear night and dawn, first major Dewfest/mist on the car in a while and sure I thought my heated mirrors were gone.

Now I know why the problem exists and it's down to over engineering again. Not sure they still do but my old Audis would be on whenever the ignition was on, not a great amount of power being used I guess so why mess around with it. Bizzare really.

At least the window blowers are awesome on these cars.

Can't understand the relation to wipers. This morning was dewy / misty but a flick of the wipers was all that was needed - didn't need them turned on. As it was over 5C there was no mirror demisting. Over engineering indeed.

It's all a bit complicated! On the other car, we just switch them on or off.

Cool info though ES-Jet!

+10 cheers for that. I assume that "wipers on" also means wipers on intermittant?
