I just want to make sure...

Are my wheels (BMW 18 inch 189 style, I think...) compatible with non runflat tyres?...

Not challenging what Mike is saying, but I'd like confirmation from Anneka or any other BMW authorised person on here ...

Just in case I do make the switch next year ;-)

Just to clarify - I have the same brochure in front of me now offering the winter tyre and wheel packages and they all say Run Flat Winter Tyres, not 'normal' tyres.

Rich.

Yep they'll be fine.

There is no such thing a a 'run flat only rim'.

There are only:

a) wheels which are suitable for all tyres including runflats

or

b) wheels which are not suitable for runflats

All our BMW wheels are a) above

Now I'm intrigued............you have a dark side.

Can't be worse than what I witnessed at the IOM TT during the Miss Wet T Shirt competitions et al.

A customer can certainly fit the BMW non run flat winter wheel set (rims & tyres) onto their vehicle, provided that it has been approved for use on their specific vehicle.

You know what?

I can fit ANYTHING I like to my car.

Ahh I see. Never really got into all that tbh but know it was MASSIVE and imagine all those people together would create a heady atmosphere!

Put it this way..........not a lot shocks me anymore since the days of getting wasted with a load of hairy arsed bikers. Great fun though and they looked after us girls well.

Shelleys in Stoke! Hardcore stuff Mike! Remember Andy Jones on our college courses....always put him as the main raver at the time!!

As for the winters, I fully agree and am half tempted to get a set chucked on my spare M3 rims and use them over the winter. Keep the Alufelgens in one piece and keep the car on the road and out of the ditches!

Not a lot shocks me, but seeing Beemerbird disappearing into the bushes at the last Stafford meet to take a dump certainly did.

Wow this thread took a funny turn!

Four HOURS in the garage today getting two new rear tyres and Hunter laser alignment. Ouch.

Can feel a major improvement though - the tyres were well out for both toe and camber!

Ha Ha! We wore black armbands at work when shelleys shut in Nov 92, thank god it did!

Andy Jones! He was a regular cannock guy until we took him to Longton one night.

Don't think he was ever the same again.

Get some winters, fun all year round.....
