That's crank, not WHP. Probably on 93oct as well.

I recall a member dynoing ~380whp on 93oct.

But when do you ever have to smog these cars? Only the new owner would need to after transfering the title on a sale and trying to register.

Well, in vegas you have smog your car after the 2nd year of owning it, plain and simple folks.

Dinan is the Saleen of BMW. It has a name but it is rather conservative in its tuning. It works for some and not for others. I am a little surprised by the amount of people that think certain things for BMWs are expensive when they own a $50,000 car.

it would be nice to upgrade and not have to worry about reliability.

cost benefit...

Two points:

1) 335i is the best performance bang for the buck in BMW land right now... I bought a 335i with 27k miles for under $30k from a BMW dealer. That leaves me a lot of extra $$$ to spend before I get anywhere near the cost of a new M3, and is even less than a simaler mileage E46 M3.

2) People should stop hating on Dinan. Many people would rather have a marginally more reliable car that runs low to mid 13's than a car that they have to worry about that runs high 12's. If you don't drag race, dinan tunes are fine. If you do, buy a 5.0 mustang, supercharge it, and run in the 10s.
