You should check the PCV tubing that connects to the rear turbo intake duct. If you find oil in there (which I imagine you will) then maybe it is time to use a oil catch can.

This picture shows a catch can and the arrows point to aftermarket tubing, but notice the point where it connects to the intake duct. See how it has the wires running out? Pull the PCV tubing connection off and check for oil here.

I also use about 1 qt every 3k miles. Or are you talking 3k kilometers?

If there is oil in the PCV tube and the intake duct, then the oil is not coming from your turbos, it is coming from blow by gasses.

You should not be running 0W oil, the recommended weights are 5W-30 or 5W-40
You should also not run racing oil but rather a high performance street application. If you like motul switch to 8100 Xcess 5W-40

Mobil 0w-40 is BMW approved for the N54 (LL-01). It's a very common oil to use because of its availability. Motul 300v is a better oil that Xcess 8100, although it is probably unnecessary for the street.

I noticed that after 1500 miles since my last oil change, the level has dropped one bar on the display. Does anyone know how much oil that one bar equates to? Essentially i'm one bar down from full, how much oil have I burned?

its not how much oil youre burning, but how many BTU's youre burning that matters

Maybe you're leaking oil and not burning it. Check valve cover gasket, PCV connections and oil filter housing for leaks.
