For Battery only. I walked in the parts department and ask.

09 battery already failing? Do they have a warranty in Canada on them? My 04 X5, 325ci and 08 335i all still have the originals.

Ouch! That stinks! We are spoiled down here.

I like the OEM batteries from both MB and BMW and have great success with them. The last one I bought was an OEM but from an independent shop. They installed it for much less than the price the dealer wanted to charge me just for the battery.

My '09 328i had the battery replaced last week.

No battery light but had long cranks, rest function wouldn't work when parked, and the clock + trip computer reset itself overnight once. Also checked the voltage across the terminals and it was indeed low.

They checked it out, the alt was charging OK (they can check the past 5 charge cycles in the computers history), ended up the battery had a dead cell and they replaced it.

Very true.

The SA made it clear that if it was deterioration, I'd be on the hook for the diagnostic fee and the battery would not be covered. However, even with our crazy climate, I don't think a battery should be deteriorating to that point in 2yrs.

i think my battery is dying also
car only has 28k
I had the exact same icon pop up on my car last monday.
i started the car and this pops up
Also the time/date in the car was blank...it did not register on either the radio or on the speedometer display infront of the steering wheel...i had to manually adjust and reset
I also noticed that i was listening to the radio the other day and sound just stopped coming out of the speakers..i changed stations it would play then stop...it continued on for about 10 mins...now back to normal
gotta find time to bring it in...
