Audiocontrol Lc2i

Hi I am thinking of using the lc2i on my 2006 e90 320d saloon with base system. Does anyone know if I can use the outputs from the rear speakers on the input of the lc2i?

Also does anyone know if I could use these speakers in the front of my car... jbl gto6583c??

Thank you.

1) Is this the 6-speaker system?
2) Why do you need the Lc2i for?
3) Why tapping the rear speakers?

The LC2i is overkill for the 15W max system of yours. Get either a decent passive LOC or just an amplifier with high level inputs and connect it to the front full range OEM HU outputs. A JL Audio XD500/3 looks like what you need.

The rear OEM HU outputs are not full range -they are high pass (no bass).

Remember: your OEM HU outputs are quite EQ. Your audio quality results without a de-EQ device in between your OEM HU and the amp chosen will vary.

Ok thanks, I also heard about some people getting away with just replacing the speakers in the car with other 2 ohm speakers, is this a good idea? ref the jbl 3 way and maybe 4" jbl in rear all 2ohm.

Also could you explain more on the 15w system? Is this how much output I have comming out of the oem hu? what is a passive loc and what is a good brand?
thank you

i have a cleansweep but i didn't like the results it produced in my previous peugeot 207. My fitter said the quality was bad because the oem hu in the 207 was poor to begin with. Will this be the same case in the bmw? also I hear alot of people complaining on the forum about hiss, I also got hiss in the 207. what i'm saying is I don't want to spend money for a system install if it's going to have issues.

My extensive experience with the CleanSweep, which involves testing the inputs and outputs with an audio analyzer (something that regrettably 99.9% of stereo shops can't do, literally) tells me that problems with it are always installer/application related.

I have used the LC2i in the base Stereo 3 times. I used it when we were doing a Level Three system with Zapcos, and we wanted a trunk sub level control. It turned out to be easier and lower-cost to use the LC2i instead of the three Zapco attenuators and the costly Zapco external preamp/level knob setup.

But so doing doesn't correct the EQing at all. We used the Zapco DSP section for that.

Pay attention to the other posters in the thread, particularly about De-EQ'ing the signal.

However, to answer your specific question, see this post

To bring to life this thread, I have an e90 2005 with base stereo. I bought a lc2i loc and connected the signals wires from one underseat subwoofer to it. I have opened the ski pass but the bass is rather poor! I started with gain on amp set to minimum and bass gain on lc2i to middle. The bass was almost not pressnt so I put both amp and lc2i gain half way up. hu eq is at zero, and volume at max but not so much bass.

I was thinking maybe signal wires from underseat subwoofer are out of phase? I could not determine which one is plus and minus.

Any suggestions?

What to do with the base system is well documented

Also you are not being very specific on what equipment you have
for and amplifier or speakers for both the stock positions and the sub setup. If you notice most people in this thread are steering the OP
away from the LCI. And the people that chimed in were the best
on the board.

Best to follow the known solutions for the stock position first then
think about blending in a sub if you need it.
The underseats in the Base system are only 6.5 and not very good
ones even the 8 inch hi fi's aren't that good. Best to get an aftermarket
setup and wired it in correctly and follow the known solutions to take
the bad eq out of the base system head unit.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have an aftermarket amplifier with subwoofer in the trunk. This is my setup as shown in the picture attached. My question is whether the wiring is correct for the signals to LC2i (I could not figure it out which cable from the front underseat subwoofers is plus and minus).
