E92 SE Front Bumper Swap - M Sport *Fog Light Question*

Afternoon!

I have a standard SE front end with SE Fog lights. Ive purchased an M Sport bumper but from what I understand the fog lights are totally different..

Can I just buy M Sport fog lights and the surround and plug them straight in or will it throw codes?

Anyone done this and done anything different?!

Thanks

Very interested in the answer also, as is a mod I am contemplating.

OP - did you need to get the bumper primed and resprayed? Approx what did that set you back (am toying with prepainted replica aero lip vs 2nd hand OEM m sport bumper)

Bumper was £69, a bargain on eBay.. but make sure you get one with the mounting fixings intact otherwise I can imagine it being an arse...

Ill be getting the bumper primed and sprayed but thats in house so not an issue for me. Ive been undecided for a good few months about M-Sport or to put an Aero Lip on the SE bumper...

I prefer the M-Sport wider open mouth look, and the various splitter options.

Personal choice I guess.

eBay bargains galore, really tempting! This modding lark is a real minefield!

Hi mate I did this a couple of months ago on my 325 e92. All you need are the fogs and surrounds, the bulbs are the same and no coding is required. Good luck

Super thanks! So the wiring harness for the fogs is the same, just plug and play?

So just to confirm, cost/shopping list for this mod is :

1) 2nd hand m sport front bumper (eBay, £70-£100)
2) prime and spray (approx £100?)
3) front fog lights (£?)
4) fog surrounds (£?)
5) central mesh/grill - presume the SE one won't work (£?)

The bulbs, harness and washer jets from the SE work?

Based on the prices I paid:

1) 2nd hand m sport front bumper (eBay, £69)
2) prime and spray & fix (£95) - Friend
3) front fog lights (£65 eBay)
4) fog surrounds & grill (£52 from BMW for all 4 parts)
5) central mesh/grill - presume the SE one won't work (£20 from BMW)
6) M sport brake cooling ducts (£17 eBay)

Washer jets work, as do the washer jet covers, bulbs for fogs are the same & kidney grilles fit..

A well worth it modification I think.

Cheers, went for the aero spoiler in the end, partially as I was indifferent to the two looks, but mainly as I'm plain lazy, and the aero spoiler is an easier install!

Wheel arch trims on mine lined up perfectly, as did the under tray bar 2 screws which I can live with

Also created my own ducting to relocate the air to the brakes.

I spent months deliberating which route to go, and I am over the moon with my decision to go for the M-Sport front...
