HELP lost bit in tophat
So I'm installing my coilovers and everything's fine..I get to the top hat where the shock sits in the trunk on the passenger side rear and i drop a hex head drill bit down in what i think went into the tunnel where the 1 arrow is but it may have gone into the tunnel where the 2 arrow is.
I fished in both tunnels with a magnetic pick-up tool but no luck. Anyone have an idea of how to retrieve it? Also i drive an e92 335is |

Did the same thing but, it was the milled aluminum piece for my Dinan Shock mount - before we knew there was a Monroe alternative for less $$...
If you remove the wheel well liner there are some body plugs you can remove that will let you fish with your magnet down in the bowels of that body cavity. Unfortunately in my case a magnet did me no good. I did finally retrieve it after allot of bad words and some serious puzzling and ingenuity. Anyway, fishing via the body plugs is the way to go - trying to get a magnet in from the top and down along the arch of the steel wheel well is no bueno... Good luck! |

Lol I have TWO in there, 6mm and 7mm (wasn't sure which one to use at first and ended up dropping both). I was worried about rattling noises at first but nothing that I can hear from the cabin.
