wax buff question

I got a question. I hate waxing my car, not because I hate putting it on, but because taking it off is a PITA. I know this is really noobish question, but I assume there are buffers to remove wax, right? Any suggestions on one I should get, preferrably something not too pricy. Or are there addons I can get for my drill?

maybe you should look into a wax that is a little more user friendly and easier to take off. . . ?

Is liquid wax easier?

Your problem may be that you let the wax sit for too long. . . but in answering your question -. . .

I've found liquid waxes to be very easy to use BUT I'm sure there are some that aren't as user friendly and there are also hard waxes that may be just as easy . . . I'm sure some can chime in as to which may be better than others.

As far as liquid waxes - I've found Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Wax to be very easy to use. If you want something even easier, you could go the route of AquaWax which is a spray wax. You just spray on and buff off. Some people swear by this product and put it on EVERYTHING . . . and I'm not just talking about the car. I mean everything.

I wouldnt use a buffer or polisher to remove wax. In the past, I learned that the best method to remvoe wax is with a microfiber towel. Also are you sure you arent leaving the wax on too long, did you apply it in direct sun light, are you sure you broke down the wax all the way? These are some of the questions that may give you a better aspect

The only wax I've ever purchased from a local store (wal-mart, autozone, pepboys, etc) is mothers carnuba wax. Anything else I would order online such as Swissvax

Not from autozone. . . .dunno about Napa. I don't think you will find this as most stores. . . . but I could be wrong. . . just order online.

Yeah - you aren't going to find too many quality waxes or an assortment at the local stores. . . .
I also agree that you don't want to put on the wax in direct sunlight, high heat or leave it on too long - no matter what the wax is. All these could cause the problems you are experiencing.

i typically do it after my car has been in the shade for an hour or so, so its cool, and i keep it out of sun light. when i wax, ill wax the whole thing once over, then immediatly remove it. so the wax isnt on for any more than 20 min, maybe 30 max.

when i say its hard to take off, it really isnt too bad, im just lazy. i was just wondering if a buffer would work to help quicken the process.

you may also be using too much. Here's a few things you can do.

1. Get a spray bottle, fill it with distilled water, put this in the fridge and go wax your car. Spray the cold DI water over the spots that are really hard to take off.

2. Quick detailer can be used to buff. I do this on a few sections so my towel has some and it makes everything easier.

when i wax my car i finish one panel and then take it off right away with an MF towel. i dont like letting it sit because it tends to make it harder to take off like you mentioned. so essentially the wax stays on the car for bout 5 mins before bring taken off...

i use mother's carnuba paste wax from wal mart... its not an expensive wax but it gives a good gloss and shine. oh and if youre going for a liquid wax, meguiars NXT is a good one to go for. the only downside with a cheaper wax is probably the fact that you have to reapply it more often because it gets washed away after a few car washes. my next wax that i want to try is either from zaino or P21S.
