Its a version2 i think and was on software 1.13 any way we jamed it up and couldnt get any sense out of it so stuck it on Itunes and some how have got it working on version 3.01 software .

The problem is now any apps wont work even if they are purchaesd from i tunes store

also four movies/videos from itunes no longer work .

I just downloaded and paid for a new movie that works fine ,I pay for a app and sync the phone nothing all he gets is the app on screen and it wont open/run

Is this me or am i missing something ,tbh i am not very gadget minded

It'd need some method of unlock to run a UK sim card, either jailbreak then software unlock.. or can use a hardware sim jumper. your call

jailbreaking the phone is basically hacking the phone to use different cell providers and being able to do things that the phone was not capable of doing.

It sounds like you may have sync'd it to a computer that isn't in the list of sync'able computers though the itunes menu...or something of that nature.

I had the same thing happen with my ipod when I sync'd it to a computer that wasn't the original computer I had sync'd it with and fixed it by checking the box next to the computers name in the itunes interface.

Good luck

'jailbreaking' and 'unlocking' are two different processes. I'm no expert in this field although I have jailbroken my 2g iphone from new 18 months ago so it is now unlocked to any network.

I believe you 'jailbreak' and iphone with software, were as you enter a pin code to 'unlock' a regular phone.
