Autothority Tune for N/A cars
I thought I'd email Autothority (best known for tuning Porsches) to see if they had a tune for our cars. Here was their response:
Hello, Yes we do, you can expect about 20 hp gain and cost is $795.00. ECU must be sent in to us for programming and turn around with in 24 hr Regards, Min They are a respected tuner for sure. It doesn't appear that there are many alternatives out there for us. Personally, I'm not in the market to upgrade HP, but the opposite - brakes. When you track your car, typically the last thing you do is add HP, suspension and brakes will get you farther than a HP increase.

They didn't say anything about adding anything else, so I'm guessing only the ecu change. Contact them directly with any questions. They respond rather quickly. I know for other brands, they adjust the ecu tune if you have a CAI and exhaust etc.

20 sounds like a good gain, if that's possible. The largest gain I have seen on a N/a E90 is around 15. Everyone else has said that anymore is reaching. Keep us updated if you get anymore news.

Autothority is a veteran company in tuning European cars and has done a number of ECU upgrades for BMWs. Here's the link to their ECU upgrade section (looks like it hasn't been updated for awhile) http://www.autothority.com/products/ECU-Upgrades.html

My warranty is almost over But yeah, this definitely looks interesting... I have an E92 328i as well, and when it comes down to performance parts, we're kind of left in the dark , but it's understandable.

authority is pretty good.
but ive had my ecu remapped by powerchip. The hp gains are defiantely noticable. Although they will vary depending on the ocatane number of the fuel you use. I paid around $600 for this. And now im always finding excuses to get behind the wheel. Before this honestly the car got annoying bcz im convinced the e90 325 has no response till 2k rpm.( throttle problems) |
