hi all,
i just have a couple of questions about this intake, hope you guys can shed some light.

i just installed my injen intake and i realized it is not oiled like my drop-in K&N filter before. does this mean that this is a 'dry' and not 'oiled' cone filter? so meaning that after i wash the filter all i have to do is te let it dry and no need to oil?

also, any good solutions on when and how and what to use when washing this filter as i couldn't find any info on the manaul/instruction it came with.

btw, this intake sounds so sick with the ikon

i don't know if its normal but do you also have that 'sucking' sound above 2,500rpm evertime you press or depress the gas pedal? mine's really noticeable so i don't know if its normal or not.

and god i love that sound when it makes at around 6000rpm

mm..actually, i hear that sound around 2k. I dont know if it's the same sound, but it's like a "whooooooooooooooooo" sound.
when it's under 2k or pass 2k, the sound stops. but the sound changes/amplifies after 2.5kish..

Humm..i havent gone up pass 4.5k yet..

Ive had that too....But I started to notice it after i pumped the 97 oct. before i got my intake in.

The intake filters are Injen's new DRY-MEDIA filters by Amsoil. Meaning there's no oil and you do not need to oil it. Many issues with the oil base filters are that users can sometimes over oil the filters and it may contaminate the MAF sensor. Thus, causing the car to function abnormally. The new dry flow removes that variable. Hope that helps.

This IS very helpful. One more question on this; do we need to change/clean after every so many miles? Or no maintenance is needed?

with these filters- you're pretty much good for 40k miles ... no joke. So basically you can go a year or more with little to no maintenance. However, if you want to take it off and clean it - i recommend just taking the filters and knocking the excess dirt off or using a small vac with attachment tool.

thanks, then i guess i don't need to buy any extra cleaner or liquids
