It would only cost $2-250.
So let me get this straight. They didn't do the actual LSD install/build, just the pumpkin? And they still only charged you for about 5 hours of labor? I wonder how long the LSD install took the 3rd party.

*Eidt, I'm scheduled with Calvin for 1 October.

Definitely a fair price. Convenient, no. Otherwise, excellent.

After T-Hill I'm going to need new rubbers. I'm considering getting new rims + tires and selling my CS7's. What do you guys think?

I want something light weight and strong.....those Morr VS8.2's look very nice and only weigh 19 lbs for 19" rims which is outstanding! I would like to keep it under $700 per rim, I like the CSL style however I am open to suggestions and don't mind going down a inch to 18's to save weight.

I'm looking at a bunch of tyres, currently running Falken 452's which are great for the $ but I want something better. Here is what I narrowed it down to:

Conti Extreme Contact DW - Very light, good tread wear, quiet, predictable, medium cost....is there anything wrong here?

Nitto Invos - Low cost, soft sidewalls good for drag but not tack, great wet traction, the Vette guys swear by these

Bridgestone RE-11's - Ultimate track/road tire, very expensive, low tread life, heavy as hell @ 28lbs each

Nitto 555R - Track tire that is good for street use, will probably have to replace them often, ok wet traction, lost cost for track tires

why not do the same setup as i did =)
TE37 monoblock with michelin Pilot super sport, excellent grip.

PSS are 25 lbs each, TE37 are 19 lbs, so total you are looking at 44 each corner.

compare to my old setup, 18inch miro with RE050A PP, which were 54 lbs each corner, im saving 40lbs total weight which is very good.

Gah.. tires.. I went with BF Goodrich, not loving them. They don't seem to grip well, and the car definately does not corner as it once did with the stiffer RFT sidewalls. Feels very loose now, compared to when I get a 328 loaner that seems to respond much quicker to steering inputs.

Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta get good revies as well, however, I think I rather spend an extra $20 each on the Conti Contacts because they are 4 lbs lighter.

Now I'm torn, my rims are not heavy by not exactly considered light (24/26 lbs). Those Morr's weigh 19 lbs, so thats a total of 24 lbs saved on rims and about 14 lbs if I go with the Contacts. So is 38lbs of rotational force saved sounds like a lot, but how much is that going to help my performace?

Eric, did you go with a square setup or staggered?

i always think the theory, the less sprung/unsprung weight the better =)

and im running staggered setup. 235/35 front, 265/30 rear. and being the PSS are meaty tires, they look like 245/275 vs the other brand.

Let's try NCRC next time. Cheaper too.

$125 Thunderhill or
$100 Buttonwillow (far but wanna try it at least once)

then again with NCRC on December 30th for Laguna Seca

Oh snap, they are? I just figured it wouldn't be and thus cancelled my trip. Maybe I'll come now. If I were to come, think I can pick them up before 11am?
