CarFax is horrible

So my friend is selling his car and bought 5 carfax reports and asked if I wanted to used two on my cars. Well both of my reports says that my cars have had 3 owners. Which is B.S. since I ordered the car made from Germany. It seems every time I moved states and got a new title they count that as a new owner. Now this is done on both cars and the funny thing is one of them says issuing new Title moved out of state and they still counted that as a new driver.

Plus my buddy who got rust repaired under warranty his report said damage/Accident major 1500+ or something like that for the repair.

For something that people use for information to buy or sell a car it does not seem very accurate.

My car has on the Carfax, major accident Frame damage, and airbags deployed from its original owner. Me not being afraid of a cheap car I make a few calls. The car tagged a gaurd rail and busted up the bumper. Nothing was replaced by the body shop which was BMW store and they sent me the picutres and the total bill as it was an Indiana car so I could ask. The pictures told the story to me, the damage reported and the actual damage on the car are sometimes very innacurate. Because of the Carfax I stole the car. As a dealer I see cars all the time with mismatched paint, un aligned body panels, and terrible overspray with a clean car fax. Its a crap shoot.

I stopped using Carfax about 10 years ago after finding it was so inaccurate. Nothing satisfies like a physical inspection and that is the only way I will buy a used car...
