why did you choose your 335i coupe?
Hi 335i owners,
i wanted to start a thread about the 335i coupe vs the 135i coupe. I'm looking for a 2 door coupe in the range of 40-52k and stumbled on the 135i, 335i and the Audi TTS. What interested me was the gap between the 135i and the 335i. i found a 335i for 53k but then found a 135i for 8k less with same options (M-sport, Technology, Wheels and rims). Why choose a 335i (other than aesthetics) over 135i when the 135i is cheaper, same options, quicker due to weight and Dual clutch transmission? anyone who owns a 335i please let me know. Also any audi owners tell me were the Audi stands in comparison with these 2 BMW's. |

I never even considered the 1 series. For me, it's too small and dainty looking. Maybe if I drove in a large city often and parking/maneuverability were an issue I would have given it a look. |

1 series is a more sensible option in Europe and in Hong Kong where the roads are tight and parking is scarce.
In North America, it makes more sense to drive a bigger car and considering the marginal price differences between the 1 and the 3, the 3 is a no brainer.

135 blast to drive, quick and nimble. Seems a bit feminine though. I think for me the "fun" factor would eventually be overshadowed by the size of the 135. I had to have a 335 M Sport. Loved the 193's. Unless you're talking about an S5 I wouldn't compare Audi to it. I enjoy driving mine every time.
Though for 52K why aren't you looking for a used M3? I'd make sure you drive one so you don't regret. |

Kind of wished that i got a 135i. im still in college, young spirited, and love to race. I would've preferred the rear-wheel drive, lighter chassis, and the DCT. But a 335i showed up at the dealership i was shopping at and i couldnt pass up the opportunity. I was desperate to find a traditional manual, and this one happened to be. On top of that, it was in immaculate condition, xDrive equipped, and had additional BMW performance modifications.
Although the 135i would probably have been a better suited car for my personality and style of driving, i do not regret getting my 335xi. I know i got the right car 'cause i always look back at my car when i leave it at a parking lot. lol, I do agree the 135i does has a disproportional design. I mostly can't stand the front end unless its a 1M. Otherwise, the car tends to look like a cross-eyed child. |

love the way the coupe looks, came up from a 328 before so the jump in power was a huge plus. Also it was one of the most roomiest coupes i tried. I almost went with a g37s but being 6'4" my head was pressing against the roof of that car.

I have a 4 door 335, but I've spent time with 1 series service loaners and they feel TINY. I've heard people say the 1 series has as much room as an e46, but I had an e46 m3 and I dont believe it. Space-wise it reminds me of a VW Golf.
Don't get me wrong, great performance car, but i couldn't see myself living with it day after day. |
