I would be worried that both seats and the driver (and passengers) would seriously degrade the detector's forward capabilities.

He never got the chance to do so I think. His fuel pump went nuts before hand.

You may want to look at the custom moded ultra thin V1 concealed display this guy offers on eBay:

It looks pretty cool to me.

That's pretty interesting. I'd be a bit concerned about knocking the display down everytime I hit mute where it's mounted in some of his promo pics.
And I've found that the mute button on the concealed display can get picky requiring a few presses over time (4 displays installed in 6 cars since '98).

I went for the ashtray with the full concealed display.

Do you mean a V1? No, at least not now. It would be really a waste of money for me since I usually just drive where cops are driving around looking for speeders. I very rarely see them aiming radars.

I just got another K40 Calibre front and rear + laser difuser off eBay for $510. This one will upgrade the Bel 975R I have in another car.

same here! I normally use my eyes, its free and observe traffic pattern. Most of the time I get caught is when Im day-dreaming, it happens alot on a BMW
