little oil filter gasket

Did an oil change today and noticed little gasket for oil filter was not on end of tip and not anywhere in housing. Should I be concerned?

Maybe it wasn't put on the stem last time the oil was changed.

It's been eaten by the engine. This thing is small and soft, you should not be concerned.

that is what I was thinking and makes me feel better for a second opinion. won't put another aftermarket filter on again. I had pre-ordered some bmw filters for this oil change and noticed how tighter filter and gasket rings fit on.

Arrow

Go to the dealer and get that o-ring or a new filter ASAP , somehow recently I did an oil change and the next day I get the low oil symbol and when I looked under my car there is a ton of oil everywhere and leaking like crazy. I had to get a tow , I thought the worst, the mechanic checked and found that the small o-ring was missing and that was the cause of the leak, haven't had a problem since, I could have sworn I put it on, but who knows.
