Having to use 95 Octane for awhile
So currently stationed in Italy, the 98 Octane stations are few and far between. I've heard by using the lower 95 it will lower HP and MPG's. Is there any maintenance related issues that I will experience? Should I change my plugs more frequently? Thanks for any help, I'm trying to get ahead of this before/if it becomes a problem.

Cool, Fitz- are you at Sigonella? Ragusa? Just kinda curious as I have relatives near there, and just passed through there last August (went around the whole island). Anyway, Im not 100% certain about the 335i, but my 328i will take higher octane AND 87 octane and the computer will "adjust" no problem (adjucting the spark timing). Hey, I burn 87 any day. Why waste. Hopefully, your car will do the same, at least, until you ship the car back and use your favorite higher octane........Enjoy the wood fired brick oven pizza, man!

It's just a car, not a jewel.
And it will adapt to a different octane. Had to put 87 in mine, with 10% ethanol and it barely knew the difference. |
