We're planning to go to the Old Lahaina Luau and Warren and Annabelle dinner show. Road to Hana is definitely in the plan. Probably won't do that many activities. We plan to do more sightseeing instead.

If you dive, go dive Molokini Crater, if you don't dive, go snorkel it. It is one of the best dive spots in Hawai'i and the world and you will see a ton of exotic reef life. Out of all the dives I have done, that was my favorite.

Where are you staying? Lahaina/Ka'anapali, Wailea, or Kapalua?

I've been going to Maui every year (sometimes twice) since I was a kid - my parents LOVE the island. I pretty much know it like the back of my hand!

The road to Hana is amazing on a clear day, but also try to find some off-the-radar hikes that locals like - such as one called Swinging Bridges. Driving to Haleakala (the crater) is amazing for a sunrise), and I'm sure your hotel (unless you are renting a condo) will have plenty of literature on action adventures!

If you have time and like snorkeling, go to Molokini for an afternoon (just don't touch a turtle, the fine is like $500+)

If you want something romantic, maybe take a day trip to Lanai island.

As for restaurants!

Wailea: Longhi's, Joe's (up at the tennis courts), Humuhumu(at the grand wailea), any of the Four Seasons restaurants (Spago is a must, and if you have a chance Ferraro's and Duo (Duo has a great brunch also)).

Lahaina: Longhi's, Cheeseburger in Paradise.

I can go on for days! haha If you have any specific questions, ask away!

I'll actually be in Maui myself the last week in July, first week in August. Staying at the Grand Wailea, Napua Towers.

We're staying at the Makena beach and golf resort. Was thinking of Molikini but people say it's too crowded to be enjoyable. Besides there are other spots with good snorkeling.

Right now i'm planning Black Rock for snorkeling, hana highway, lahaina, paia, iao needle, sunrise at the haleakala, blowhole, olivine pools and infinity pool. Gonna throw in a few waterfalls and beaches along the way.

Molokini does get crowded. Head up to the snorkel boat that leaves from the Maui Prince hotel beach. It is the first boat out there.

You picked the best luau....

If you want a real cool/good restaurant to check out, go to Mama's Fish House in Pai'a. Quaint, on the beach, great food. http://www.mamasfishhouse.com/

A drive up Haleakalā is pretty spectacular. Last time I did it, it was 46 degrees up there...bring a light jacket.

The road that wraps around the north shore is something not to be missed. The beauty is epic.

Yeah I heard mama's fish house is pretty nice. We're planning to stop by there for lunch the first day (after we land). I wonder if there are other things that you guys know about that you could share since some of you go there so often.

I haven't found much. I'm also 20 and can't go to bars technically.

Hotel has the best night life for me. Usually there are all age groups 21+ posted up at the hotel bars until 10/11pm. And the beaches are usually packed with 'kids' 18-25ish during vacation season.

Nice! Maui is the best! (Although I do want to explore other islands. I was on Kauai, but I was too young to remember, and I've been to Oahu for a day since I know someone on Hawaii 5-0 and got to check out the set/filming.

I lived on Oahu for about 5 years and frequented Maui several times and can say that snorkeling and just doing nothing at your hotel but relax and walking around town. The outside mall was awesome.

Just time to chill when I was there. Plus it had the 1980s feel to it the entire time I was there.

You know I was thinking of the same thing. I think each island has a different feel to it. Oahu is for busy and IMO people go there to get away and do a lot of activities. Big Island is more secluded and people take it in stride- more relaxed, more natural phenomenons (I've driven straight down a highway and experienced crazy rain only to see the street bone dry just 5 minutes away), volcanoes, etc. Maui, from what I can tell, is more about relaxing and checking out things. To me it sounds like we should just relax and take our time to do things. Perhaps throw in an activity here and there but for the most part we should just chill.

Stay at the ritz in kapalua. Prepare to be impressed with the beauty of the island but unimpressed with the food. I spent from $20 to $150 trying different places and all were just ok.

Great island though. Not really developed but absolutely beautiful.

Credential: I've been to Hawaiin Islands 3 times, 40+ days of solid vacationing/trying new things every day (everywhere but Lanai)

Anyone that says the food in Hawaii isn't good, isn't doing it right. Check Yelp for restaurants.

Haleakala sunrise is a must. It's the most beautiful natural landscape I've ever seen. It feels like you're on Mars. Hike into the crater.
Obviously, road to Hana.
Drive all around West Maui through Kaanapali. Beautiful coastline/scenery.
Hiking is a must to see the islands: Waihee Ridge Trail is pretty nice. 'Iao Valley Rainforest hike.
Hawaii isn't the place for nightlife, so have some drinks, get to bed early, get up early, and go for hikes.

This was one of the best meals I've ever had:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/star-noodle-lahaina

If you're over on the Big Island, this is the BEST meal I've ever had:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/rapanui-island-cafe-kailua-kona

Incredible restaurant, very pricey though (~$100/pp):

The Ritz is nice. The price isnt bad for a 5* hotel either. However, it isnt a beach front property and I think people wanted to be on a beach. Also, I think Kapalua is on the windward side no?

Well that is the dinner menu. Lunch will *only* be $26 or so for an ahi/mahi sandwich

It's worth it for someone who enjoys amazing food!
