oem performance wheel 313

guys, I am looking to get the 19" bmw oem performace wheel 313 on my 2008 335xi. if I am not looking to staggered wheels, can I get 4 235/35/19 or I have to do staggered. and for the wheels, could I just get a set of 4 8x19 ET:37 works if I am not staggering or I still have to get 2 8x19 ET:37 for front and 9x19:39 for rear. thanks all.

You can go 8x19 square. You may want to consider spacers on all four corners as well.

cb4, thanks for the reply. please educate me. what is the spacer for and is it needed. Having horrible road conditions, will the tires with 40/19 instead of 35/19 scratch the wall. thanks.

You'll want 235/35/19 all around. 235/40/19 will be too tall. Spacers push the wheels outward to line up with the fenders. Without them, a 19x8 ET37 wheel will look tucked in the rear and won't look very good.

MassBimmer, thanks for the knowledge. I think I will go for 235/35/19 as you suggested. As for the wheels, I understand the difference btw 8x19 and 9x19. What is the ET37 and ET39 ? so if I buy the ET39 for the rear, is that mean I don't need the spacer ? thanks

thanks again for the help. I have decide to go with 235/35/19 and 8x19 ET7 all around. I thought about 245/35/19 all around, but afraid of rubbing. anyway..i hope to have some pic soon.

ET39 actually tucks in the fender more than ET37. ET37 & 39 are your offsets.
The smaller the number the more the tire sticks out. I have seen people run ET20 with no rubbing issues. But the general safe thing is about ET30ish.

Or this is where spacers come in. You can buy ET37 and if they look too tucked in then you put a 5mm spacer and now you have an ET32 which i think is what most people on here have. Anyone have photos to post of the differences.

BTW very nice wheels. Where are you getting them?

Word of caution, be prepared to wait if you are getting the BMW 313's. I ordered a set of 18" from Tischer on Sat and on Thursday they told me they are on nationwide backorder. They indicated backorders are typically filled within 2-3 weeks but they did not say if that would be the case this time. Perhaps the 19" are available but you should ask beforehand to avoid a surprise.

djkrajzi, Gemstone335, and TheRox thanks all for the inputs. learning something new everytime. yeah I plan to get them from Tischer as well cuz they still have the best price. 19". I will call them in advance for availablility. my spec out price is about $3300 which includes 19" ET37 on all 4, 235/35/19 all season from tirerack and tpms. my local garage dude is willing to tire balance and install everthing for $180...so total will be arounf 3500...OUCH... do you guys think this is reasonable.

by the way, just a quick question, will I use more gas running 19" vs 18" or stock 17". Anyone can privide the difference they experience regarding gas usage after upgrade.

Why wouldn't you just do the stock staggered 313 tire sizes? They fit the xi fine and have almost the same rolling diameter?

reprod, becuz I don't want to use RFT and the stock staggered setup is 225/35/19 front and 255/30/19 rear. Apparently, no one makes 255/30/19 for non-RFT. I see that you are located in NYC also, so you can understand why I prefer All-season as well. I think the most recommeneded is Conti DWS. if you have better suggestion, let me know, I am a newbie always eager to learn more about it. thanks.

I'm with you on that one. I am currently running some stock summer RFT tires (just took delivery) but I also have a set of Conti DWS from my 08 335xi once I feel like taking my RFTs off.

I haven't done much research into 19s to be honest but if I did do 19's I would be looking at doing a 235/35/19 F and 275/30/19 R. Because of NYC streets, I stick with my 18's in 225 F and 255 R.

Re: back order status, no update yet. Note I can only say for sure that it applies to 8x18”.

As far as cost goes it is probably unfair to compare the 18” to the 19” but here is my cost:

$716 – (4) Continental Extreme Contact DW (Tire Rack)
$1356 – (4) 8x18 313’s from Tischer
$229 – (4) TPMS from BavarianX
So the total is about $2300 not including shipping and mounting.

I went for the summer tires because I have a dedicated set of Blizzaks for winter. I elected to not go with the staggered set up so I could rotate the tires.

thanks gemstone and reprod. after reading your comments, I gave up on getting 19 and I will go for 18 instead. non staggered. that would save me $1k, mpg, and not worry too much on the crapping pavement. I will try to see if the dealer where i got the car from can get me some good deals. 8x18, 235/40/18

Nice... Congrats vincik... Looking forward to seeing some pics... You will probably need some spacers for the rear once you evaluate how much room you will have back there.

Thanks. reprod. I sure will check out the spacers. Yeah, it would take 2-3 weeks for delivery, so I hope to post some pics soon. I also found a local tire place willing to sell me the set of tires (ContiExtreme DWS 235/40/18)for 180 each including balance, mount, and remove and reinstall my existing TPMS to the new wheels. if you know other places, let me know.
