URGENT! Flat tire???

Hey!
So I finally just got home and just before I did, the car told me that the tire pressure changed. It says it "Flat Tire."

Obviously the dealer is closed and there is no one I can speak to, but what I want to know is, is there a way to tell if the Run on Flats have been "activated."

WHAT DO I DO?

Is the service to "check" gonna cost me?

HELP!

Run Flats dont "Activate." If youre flat the super strong sidewalls allow you to continue driving.

Go check your tire pressure and see if it really is flat.

Then call tire shops that may be open if you are infact flat.

It may just be a low pressure warning so you just go and inflate the tire more. There is no "FLAT" indicator... just a low pressure warning which may indicate a flat

yeah, just check your tire pressures, they might just be low. if one has no pressure take it to a tire shop and have it repaired

Like the others have said, I would double check the pressures to see if they are in spec. If you are worried you've been driving on it for too long, I would get it checked out.

Hey all,

Thanks for the response.
I already have Nitrogen in the tires. Looks like there is NO air in this one tire!!! F*********CK!!!!!! Like seriously? I've only had the car a month, and it's not like I drive it recklessly, or on "busy" roads... I don't know... I'm going to take it in tomorrow... and I'm expecting to dish out 500 bucks! Gotta get my cheque book ready!!

i once got a "flat" on one of my RFTs drove straight to the tire shop and patched the hole.. didn't need to buy a new tire, worked great for about 15,000 more miles.

as long as you didn't drive much on it, i would say get it repaired if possible.

Take to it to a gas station with a mechanic onsite and get it plugged.

My low pressure light came on when my tire was about 8psi low. It's just a warning. But it's a good idea to check.

If your tire is completely flat see if you can fill it with air and see if it hold (if you have an air pump at home) if not take the tire off and cruise down to the gas station and do the same. Listen to air leaks etc. Hopefully it's not a big issue. Maybe a nail or something causing it.

Make sure you have no crack in your wheel. For an example check the photos in my garage.

Do have the shop check your wheel(s) for cracks while you have the car up on the hoist in the garage.

Turns out it was a nail. $575 dollars later...
Is tire insurance worth it? Or is it too late at this point?
Any suggestions?

get a portable air compressor, tire sealant and a tire pressure guage. Next time, as soon as you get the low pressure warning, first, find out which one is low, and how low. If its punctured put some sealant in, and refill it with air.

Drive straight to tire shop and get it patched..

there is no need to be spending $575 on a new tire everytime you run over a nail.

Wow $575! I would've bought a new set of non rfts and sold the 3 remaining rfts.
