I have bought all three of my bimmers with no assistance from my parents since I was 17... It took a lot of computers to build/work on, but I did it Now that I'm 24 and out of college I have a good IT job that pays for my best bimmer yet

Point is, not everyone has their parents pay for their rides in this thread.

Sigh, the stereotyping once again. Hey, some people actually DO
work for it, or do have other means (E.g investments etc etc? Idk) I hope this doesn't turn into some "Did your mummy buy it for you" Thread. Keep it fun with some mutual respect!

There is a reason for stereotype, as 95% of kids under 25 probably didnt pay for their bimmer. Again, 95%, not 100%. If you are under 25 and have your own business (or make enough money for your bimmer), good for you! Seriously! I know I couldnt afford a bimmer AND a house when I was 25.

Actually, I think few people have problems that their parents bought their bimmer. At least I dont.

But "most" people probably will have a problem if they're being an ass about it, or just showing off however many nice cars their parents have and go ahead and act as if they deserve their bimmer because a), they got in a good school, b) not getting into troubles...

If you're making $30K per year (about $1850 after tax?) and you live AT HOME.. sure you can afford a $500 lease payment of a BMW 335i? You'd still have $1300 play money for your insurance.. they have no rent/mortgage and probably pay little food cost if at home too..

Definitely possible.

(Obviously, this is for some people only, not applicable to ALL teenagers driving a bimmer)

U make a good point. just because someone drives a certain car has nothing to do with their financial status, there's people out there who prefer to barely own a car and have nothing in savings just to have said car. there's others who might even be able to afford a bmw and have other goals their working towards.

all in all I take this as a fun little exercise to see what people on this site within my age group are driving but there could be hundreds of variables why each individual drives the cars they drive. I've even thought back at a friend of a friend who bought fancy cars from the death of a parent's insurance money... so to each their own.

Lets just enjoy our cars and hope each of us only moves on to something better and never have to take a step back.

I trully wish I was able to afford a bimmer when I was 15, 17... anyhow I'm 23 now and I just got my 328 about 1 month ago after having 2 diffrent lexus, an 07 ES 350 and an IS 250. I have always leases so I really never did any mods to them just lights and shyt.

for my 1st bimmer i just plan on putting some rims and a drop 4 now, my sig has 1 pic, all stock just tints and debadge.

nice cars to the rest of you all!

BTW mummy and daddy never gave me a cent for ANY of my cars and I have been driving since I was 16, I would never 4 get my first car a 1991 hatchback RED stick Honda Civic = classic! that shyt was falling apart! lmao...

sorry for crappy camera pic

The insurance companies here in Northern Ireland will not look at any one under 22 for a bmw as the little boy racers have mucked up all the cheap insurance covers

Ah yes, I remember all those comments. I was 22 when I bought my first new BMW when I first started as a trader on Wall Street. I'm 30 now, too old for this thread haha

It's awesome that you managed to succeed early! That's why, yes I have to agree some people in these forums are just young punks showin' off, but there are others who genuinely worked hard/deserved it.

I have to admit that my first bimmer when I was 20 was bought by my parents, but it was a used one....I had that car for like 8 years before I moved onto another used BMW which I bought myself....This one is my first brand new BMW that I have owned...But seriously stereotyping 18-22 year olds are really not that far fetched because I was a prodigy of one. Don't take it as a insult, but most people at that age have really no income other than from the help of parents....
