He is completely gutted.

I am completely Gutted for him.

Carlos, that certainly is bad news. I'm guessing they must have nicked the key? Hope he gets it recovered soon and in the same state he left it.

I parked the car at my friend's like I always do when I'm out of the country as I have no secure parking where I live. Some stroke of bad luck, his house was burglared at early dawn last Friday, they took the key and drove off with the 335.

A week on, there is still no sign of it. For some inexplicable reasons, I did not put a Tracker on this car nor did I take up the GAP insurance like I always did in the past. I just never thought such a thing would happen, or at least happen to me. Well, sh*t hits the fan when you're least expecting it.

As such, it will cost more money to buy (the trade in value we agreed on was much higher than what the insurance pay out will be) and insure the E92 M3 plus I will not have peace of mind with such a car in my possession. After much deliberation, I cancelled my M3 with some loss from my original deposit.

This has put such a negative impact on me (the stress, the hassle, the worry) that I just don't feel like owning anything attention drawing from now on. Now I understand why older people say when you have money, keep it to yourself and enjoy it, don't shout. It's a learning curve in life ......

Not good news, but better he never see's it again - It will never feel the same. I had my GTI stolen just over a year ago, and when it was recovered 5 days later, all the wheels and tyres were trashed, it had been smoked in and obviously ragged senseless, I got a payout.

Really bad news, hope he get's it sorted out quckly and with the lowest loss.

I guess there is always a risk of getting your car stolen, all you can do is minimise the risk the best you can and not let it worry you, easier said than done though after your car gets stolen.

Sorry to hear about your car that is just a really horrible situation. I agree with Real Thing and you should not be to hasty in letting them spoil you enjoying nice cars. These things are fairly rare and you only live once so put it in the past and get on with your car plans.

Its more desirable. As everyone keeps saying, the 335d is one of the Best ''Real World Performance Cars'' so theives target them more..

Just want to add my sympathy. Crap like this really makes me mad, but at least nobody was hurt by the scum. Some time ago an acquaintance of mine was confronted in his bedroom by 3 thieves with knives who demanded his keys. His young daughter was asleep in the next room and his wife was terrified. Thankfully they just took the keys, but from then on I have put mine downstairs in plain view at night. Let the feckers take the car, but I don't want them in the bedroom.
