Left tail light flickers, need help?

My left tail light, the light on the trunk, it is either on, off, or flickers, I have no dash warning light, if I tap the light it either goes off, on, or flickers, which makes me think it might just be a shorted wire, the light is still bright and works fine when lit, I saw a bulletin for the rear tail lights, but I believe that is for the outer taillight which flickers due to corrosion, thanks for any help...

I had my driver's side tails replaced under warranty about a year ago; the LED strips were malfunctioning and not lighting up. They were good until about three months ago when I noticed the same one was out again...I slapped it just to see what happened and it turned back on. No problems since, lol.

there is an SIB for the tail lights, not sure what number it is. The taillights were susceptible to corrosion on the terminals causing a bad connection like what you describe.

Were you under warranty, or they just fixed it...

I'm pretty sure the dealer told me it was a recall/campaign when mine were fixed. And warranty shouldn't matter for a recall

That comment coming from a Service Advisor, which I assume it was, sounds like he failed charm school or customer-focus training, and is a rather asinine comment for a BMW SA to be making, whether it's true or not.

Exactly what I thought, I wish I had it on tape, so could all hear the entire convo and how I had to school him with hard facts, it was actually quite funny, he was a nice guy just way out in left field when it comes to cars...

Take it to BMW North Scottsdale and ask for Eric. He got me taken care of and was straight forward and honest with me regarding my CBU issues. I almost bought a 328i from Chapman BMW but the sales guy was doing all the douchebag salesman things. BMW North Scottsdale has a good service department and Eric is a good SA.

Hello,

I have this issue with my right, inner tail light (the one housed in trunk). I'm out of factory warranty (2007 / 47K miles).

I'm curious if the repair was covered under your extended warranty or if the cost was covered by BMW due to the SIB?

Thanks
