Just installed the $63 short shifter

I feel like this is the equivilent to the alpina flash for the MT. I saw this DIY but the SSK for the 335 is hundreds of dollars. And i didnt really want the shift boot or knob. After doing some more research i found that you can just use the 330i short shifter and its $63 from tischer. Install was under 20 minutes, could probibly do it in 5 min now. Although its not rediculously short its noticable shorter in height and the throw is a little more natural.

Between this and the CDV delete i think that both should have been standard on the 335i MT cars. both mods make the car feel more normal.\

This is the part, Make sure you get the 330i one.

EDIT: Adding pics, Also the shifter does not sit in the same location as the factory shifter, it sits further forward and to the right.(see pics) If your OCD dont do this MOD.

Comparing the 2 shifters, note the angles

Did you get it with new clips and the new ball cup or is the stock one good enough?

http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-330...train/Shifter/

It's the same for 335's, my buddy got the 330's for his 335's and it's the same thing. They mark it up because of the 335. I hope this won't affect the pricing across the sites...

the stock ones are fine, the clip is good to have if you lose the original one. DEF. the same part for 335 and 330. the 328i shifter is taller from what ive read

i will take some photos when i finish cutting my fenders.

I was looking at where to get the kit and stuff yesterday since I drove my buddy's 335 before he sells it. I had to get it for myself. Under $100 for it with new cup bushing and clip is well worth it. $88 shipped to be exact.

Nice job, but even if you've done it 100 times. It does not take 20 minutes, lol.

I beg to differ, this is JUST the lever, not the bracket as well.

Also i see i made a typo in my first post. I meant the 330i SSK lever.

It does take 20 minutes, at most. All you have to do is remove the knob, then the boot. Knock the retaining clip off, then undo the ball. Then swap. No need to get under the car.

I see, I was thinking about the whole process about getting under the car and stuff. I followed that DIY and it took about an hour the first time.

I'm dreading the install of the full blown BMW 335 SSK I have sitting in the garage.

I've installed full SSKs on BMW's before (E36 and E46) and it was a PITA.

I will be seeing you shortly for Cyba tips installation tho

No way! Really? I am going to do that when I get my part in the mail. I didn't think it'd be possible, that's what my friend told me as well...

Maybe a little pricy, but I put just the shorter shift knob in my 335i a couple years back and totally love the results.

Go to the linked thread at the top to page 4. I followed his directions, easy to do. Worse case is you put it in backwards and have to do it again. I just ordered 3 of those clips with my order just in case I dropped them, they are like 70 cents. I was able to use needle nose pliers to get it on, some people used dental floss to make sure it wouldn't fall.

Its a nice change from stock, not as drastic as a CDV delete, but for 70 bucks or so I feel it was worth it.

With the ZHP weighted knob, SSK and CDV delete it is much improved.
