For those of you that purchased ext. warranty from another dealer (not in your state)

I have a quick question...

Looking to purchase the extended warranty but the quotes I got from in town dealers are $1000 more than what I can get them from outside of florida. Needless to say it is a pretty amount more.

Now I just want to know if I'll have ANY issues with the dealer in town when or if I take my car for warranty work...like for instance since I didn't purchase the extended bmwna warranty through them would they throw a fit about it if they had to replace a part under warranty?

none whatsoever! the warranty is tied to your VIN and the dealer cannot deny warranty work as they are getting paid by bmwna for the repairs.

Care to share the price you were quoted for a warranty? If not...can you send over a PM? I'm curious...

Also...I don't think it'll be a problem. It's like getting your car serviced at a different dealership (which I do). They do the work no questions asked...just don't give me the extra perks they would if I brought the car from them: free rental and free ar washes any day of the week if I just swing by.

It's pretty funny, kind of why I believe CPO is garbage. I just bought it over the phone, they didn't need my key nor did they ever need to see my car. It's like selling insurance online. BMWNA acts like there are certain cars that are not CPO'able or extended warranty'able.

hint: choose a state with no sales tax, it's bound to save you on avg. another $250.

I don't believe this is a taxable purchase.

Sales tax shouldn't apply at all for out of state purchases.

I actually had to send my key to the dealer in CA to get mine purchased last year. They sent me a prepaid Fedex envelope and sent it right back to me within a day or two.

I would also be interested to know which dealer gave you the lowest quote and how much it was.

Yes i did and i actually called around several dealers and they all told me the same thing. You can buy the warranty anywhere and any BMW dealer will honor the warranty.
