JB3 with full bolt-on's and one crazy fast E92 M3..
So I ironed out some issues with my car in the past few months...a lot of you know I had switched back to JB3 from PROcede and swapped my spark plugs with some fresh ones. The result was a solid dyno on 100 octane (412whp 412wtq).
Well after all that and an IC upgrade it was time to put that power where lots of people would rather see it... on the streets of Mexico of course! Here's a demonstration by way of an acceleration contest. This is me dueling my buddy Drew and his E92 M3 with full bolt ons, and as you can see in the video, was very happy to see me do well given my previous performance issues. He's got one very fast DCT M3. In fact, the fastest bolt-on M3 I've raced to date and he's got the kill list to prove it too. You can really get a sense for the lightning quick shifts of the DCT transmission..and a sense for the power and torque i'm making as I make up ground and pull even with him! So enjoy this demonstration of after market performance and bavarian engineering! Courtesy of BMS and the folks at VP Race Fuels LOL Oh and also before this run saw me dead even with a stage 3 S4 on water/meth. glad to see you having fun bro because that's what it is all about. I too left the JB family out of curiosity and went right back as well. You should still have more torque than him so he should not get that 1/2 a CL down low. Keep the gear selection low and rpm high. Thanks for the video.

To illustrate how fast Drew's M3 is, just take a look at this video:
The $138K CLK63 Black Series trap 116-119mph bone stock (see dragtimes). 186mph Top End. And you can also see a video of his M3 running against a fully modded EvoSport C63 with no cats, etc. This car makes like 560HP at the crank. Damn...that AMG is loud!! Great fun this morning!

It looked like the driver of the M3 was HOLDING the camera?! LOL
Or did he have another passenger?

I think he has it attached to a head band LOL. J/K I wanted to run the Black Series, but he declined. Here is a stock E46 M3 vs the JB3 Coupe. Got killed on the start again! But eventually reeled him in.

If you think about it, all he needs is the right hand to hold the wheel and shift at the same time.
He holds it with his left hand. Great runs man!! Drew's car is increadible. One of these days we'll finally hook up Mario.

Haha wow, it looks like the M3 just hit the brakes you walked him so hard. Any plans to run against Mote again with the new mods?

We did a quick 40-90? run, and I think he was on the fwy running with us. I think we are all pretty close, but I wasn't in race configuration at all today. Quick Vbox test put me at 114mph today, so I think he would pull me eventually. But on same MS109, I think it would definitely be an interesting race!

Great job!
So basically your Jb3 335i would have taken out that CLK63 Black series, since at the end of the race you were even with the DCT M3 full bolt on. |

The car was still adapting to the MS109 even after I ran Drew. I could feel it getting significantly quicker the more wide open throttle runs I made. Basically I put the fuel in, switched maps and did an immediate run against the Stage3 S4. Really no adaptation time and still managed to maintain dead even with the S4. Afterwards, when I ran Drew, I could feel the car quicker than before. I believe the JB3 needs a few good WOT runs before the ECU adapts itself. So I think if I had run the CLK63 I would of beat him by at least a car length. |
