lowering problem - DSC, DBC malfunction - HELP!!
I just lowered my 2007 e92 335i sport with H&R Sport springs. I was driving for about a week with stock wheels while I waited for my m3 replica wheels to arrive. On my way to get the new wheels and tires mounted I got a service alert for DBC malfunction, DSC malfunction, and Start-Off Assistance Inactive.
I've mounted the wheels and tires and I need to get everything aligned, as the alignment is way off. The car is CPO, and I'm under warranty, but will lowering void the entire suspension warranty? Can anyone offer suggestions on how I should handle this? I'm planning on getting to the dealer asap to get everything fixed. Thanks. |

I had the same problem (although, not directly following new parts).
Took it to the dealer (with all of my mods on) and they replaced the steering wheel angle sensor under warranty and everything went away. You can go ahead and get the alignment now. Originally, my error lights were intermittent but eventually they were always on (after a few days).

Thanks for the info guys. I was freaking out for a little while, but I'm getting it aligned at the dealer today. From my conversation with them, it doesn't sound like its a major issue. They said there are sensors that may have been thrown off from the height adjustment and it could possibly have something to do with the steering wheel angle sensor. I'll post an update as soon as I get the final details.

sorry to bump this older thread. but i answered my own question today. You don't have to reset anything as long it is just the steering wheel alignment sensor. Upon proper alignment the DBC and DSC errors went away without any reset of the ECU. I asked earlier just because I didn't want to have to go back to the stealership to have them replace a sensor...

Hey guys I lowered mine today on eibach sportlines and got the steering angle error, the yellow brake light (drive off assist failure) and the tire preassure light.
I've seen some mixed outcomes, some go away with an alignment and sometimes Bmw resets are needed. Original poster didn't give update, im still wondering if the steering sensor is covered under warranty. Also would the drive off assist failure be covered? Thank you |

To reinitialize the steering angle sensor you just disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect it. Start the car and turn the wheel lock to lock.
