if your car is under warranty they'll swap them out no charge. Happened to me too on the fogs, they said it wasn't a big deal.

the condensation usually goes away after you drive with the headlights on for a while. Also, the headlights are not air-tight, there are small drain holes at the bottom. Though if there is a lot of water getting in, it could mean that there is a leak somewhere.

I am surprised to see people suggesting that the headlights are sealed units. SAs and dealers here have insisted that the headlights are not sealed... at least on my X5, and minor condensation is expected and acceptable. (?)

....yet it seems people who open up and modify their headlights tend to frequently have this issue.

The only condensation I ever got on my E46 was in the aftermarket fog lights on my M3 replica bumper... but I can't fault BMW for that one.

depends on the year of your X5.. 11/02 on they are sealed and cannot be opened. prior to 11/02 they could be baked open. the early x5 headlights were not sealed at all.

Now I am confused... is it or is it not normal to have little mist/condensation after all? I own different car and do not see any condensation on the headlamps...

i remember reading something about there being a bulletn where a lil condensatin was normal. I hadnt noticed any in mine until i did the angel eye upgrade+drl bulbs swap..i had to pop off the covers to access the drl's. There tight as sh*t so i dont see how anything can get it but i guess somehow it does.

SA is the only person to mess with my car and I get some condensation in both lights, usually after I wash it and it's cold outside. By the time I arrive at my destination it's gone.
