i didn't think too much of the betterdeal, at least with a recent model bmw. in any case i have managed to negotiate with a Qld dealer down to $118,000 drive away. (335i coupe/steptronic/paddles/roof/metallic paint). just finalising the paperwork. this was done over the phone. the drive way price was originally $122,936.

note that better deal's best offer was $120k drive away and that was from a dealer in NSW, which would mean a truck drops it to my house, and i drive it to Qld Transport to get it Qld registered! Anyway, i made an enquiry via carsales.com.au on a demo i saw listed in Qld. (they are starting to appear now and as you know from carsales you don't know the location until you make an enquiry). anyway they called me back, and i said i was interested in a 335i but i wasn't going to pay full price. i said i was willing to pay $118k (given at Brisbane BMW the spec'd car is $124k and motorline it's ~ $123k drive away) and that i didn't want to waste their time if my price wasn't acceptable to the dealership at this point in time given the cars only been released for 1 month. the salesperson said could you come to $119k and i said no because it'll be a few months before the car is delivered anyway. the sales person asked if i would u be willing to put a deposit down with a credit card if i take your price to the manager. so i said ok, and gave my card details across and they called back and said it is fine. i just now wonder given they accepted the deal (without a counter offer) how much lower i could have gone. perhaps i should have started at $114k drive away!! who knows. anyway.

no - i had to factory order (2007 compliance, rather than current 2006 compliance) because of the colour combo. Sparkling graphite and creme beige. they have a database where they can see if they can source you a car already coming to Australia but my colour combo wasn't available. Anyway, the demos currently listed (at least on carsales) are listed pretty high in price ($124.8k Qld driveaway and $127k + on roads) minimal discount from actual brand new drive away price. if i could have got a <1000km demo at $110k drive away it would be worth saving the $8k but i doubt if they would consider the hypothetical offer seriously (given their demo was quoted to me at $124k anyway). however i was surprised when they rang back and said my offer was ok. i wonder what would have happened if i had gone in initially at $116k drive away....anyway you never will know how low they are willing to go and if you got the best price possible....what i do know is that when traded in down the track you take a big hit anyway... like a $30-40k-$50k punch in the guts...

Any new prices
It's been almost 8 weeks since the last thread, so I was wondering what prices people have been able to negotiate down to, this close to end of calendar year. Also wonder if anyone's getting good deals on 06 stock? I'm seeing my dealer in Canberra tomorrow to see what I can manage.

Anyone got any pricing updates? I'm starting to shop around at the moment for a 323i coupe. The price I've been quoted is $84.4k driveaway with Auto/Sun/Sport seats from Rushcutter Bay. This salesperson was nice to deal with but he said no discount at the moment and don't expect it anytime soon. He mentioned the previous coupe took 3yrs before they started discounting (yeah right). Did I walk into a BMW or a Ferrari showroom? because I know there is 2yr waiting listing for the F430.
So any info will help. Thanks |

try emailing them (every dealer in NSW or however far you are willing to go to buy your BMW) explaining you are in the market for a 323 coupe with the specs as you want, but you don't want to waste their time however you are willing to pay x amount. ($75k is a good starting point). they'll certainly phone you back or email you back with a counter offer.
