E90 Wont rev in drive?

So the other day i was out with some friends doing some red light 0-60's and anyways i usually have my left foot lightly on the brake and my right foot pushing the accelerator just a little bit so i get more of a jump when i go. But for some reason all of a sudden when i pushed on the accelerator, the RPM's wouldnt go up at all. I pushed my foot all the way down and still nothing. Im pretty confused as this has never happened before. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!

Has no one ever told you not to press the brake pedal and accelerator pedal at the same thing?

You sir, have strained your transmission.

Does your 2007 have an electronic throttle or cable throttle? If electronic, the computer is reading the position of the accelerator and then 'computing' how much throttle to actuate. If it sensed a conflict between the brake and throttle, it may decide that this is an abnormal condition and no throttle should be actuated.

My car does the same thing. If I floor it while holding the brake, it just hovers at about 1,000 rpms. It must be programmed that way - won't allow "power braking".

you can blame (or thank) toyota for this.
Remember that story of stuck accelerator where the driver and people in car got killed?

That's actually a good point. There may be some redundant safety logic that doesn't; allow application of the throttle and the brake together.

FWIM, I accidentally forgot to put my car in Park the other day and turned it off and miracles of miracles the engine turned off while in drive. Amazing.

It does seem strange that it worked before, and won't now.

Did you have the transmission serviced or repaired lately? Maybe the software was re-flashed by the dealer?
