Do you think redrilling them will firstly be safe, and second of all ruin the look by adding holes? Have you got any close up pics of your rims once REDRILLED?

Many thanks,

Josh
Its perfectly safe and common practice to convert pcd's with inserts. Ive have over 70k on these redrilled wheels. The only down side is resale, you cannot go from 120 back to 114.3. the 114.3 is more open to the resale market via honda/acuras/toyota/nissan.

for wheel size 18x9.5fr +35 and 18x10.5rr +22....what would you recommend for adequate tire stretch. i'm slammed on coilovers and rear fenders are rolled. so far the following sizes were mentioned, however using ~XxPornxX~ method of tire stretch calculation (i stole from another thread), i don't think these will work:

225/40 Fronts -> (225*.4)/9.5 = 9.47
245/40 rears -> (245*.4)/10.5 = 9.33

OR:

245/35 fronts -> (245*.35)/9.5 = 9.03
265/35 rears -> (265*.35)/10.5 = 8.83

these are no where near the 5-7 ratio Tee mentioned. what size should i be looking at guys?

my Volks right now are 18x9.5 +22 with 245/40-18 in the rear and no rub.

umm import36...while were on this subject i have a confession. I noticed your previous thread about changing things up and opting for an aggressive stretch look. A part of me was doing backflips in my head thinking finally! he wants to jump ships and cross over to the retarded dark side. I didnt want to jump in and tell you what to do but now since you ask

those sound like te37s off the shelf specs?

try to imagineer this in your head or im sure someone here already has this setup.

9.5+35 is flush at | oem -.65 camber fronts.
10.5 +22 pokes 9mm at \ -1.8 natural camber rears.

225.35/245.35 will give you a nice even/matching stretch and yes both ratio (8.2/8.1) are very close. Given your desired camber thats plenty of stretch to help clear.

congrats on the vendor badge Devin! I hope your time helping everyone here dont go unoticed.

Lac i also have a confession for you...sometimes you have some good one liners that i still think about even when im taking a dump...i just have to chuckle lol
Thanks Tee appreciate the kind words. You as do I help alot of guys on here and I love pushing the boundaries to see just how far I can take it. I may not no it all but what I do know I try to help with others and have also myself learned alot from you and your mistakes, as you put it in the past. Thanks alot dude

Massive thanks for that picture!
So all they do is weld some metal in and redrill them to 120?
I thought that the holes had to be entirely moved meaning the face of the rim gets ruined! I guess a redrill job I saw recently was a very bad one where they drilled new holes in the face of the wheel without filling the original ones!

Basically they enlarge the original holes then press fit in a insert(wider inner diameter), so you can see it as just resetting a hole size. a quick cheap band aid.

Thanks for that mate. I have been told that it can be a messy drop for a concave face and that a refurb is needed after drilling... Is this true?
