Fitment with Style 230 and Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires
I am the new owner of a set of Style 230 19 inch staggered wheels. Although I originally was looking for 18 inch Style 193's, I found a deal I could not pass up. The wheel size and offsets are Front 19 by 8 ET 37 and Rear 19 by 9 ET 39
My biggest concern over using 19 inch was sidewall protection on poor roads. Although the original combo I planned to use was going to be 225/35/19 and 265/30/19 Michelin Pilot Super Sports, I came up with two Pilot Super Sport combinations that could add some additional sidewall protection. They are 235/35/19 Front with 275/30/19 Rear or 225/40/19 Front with 265/35/19 rear. I am somewhat concerned with the additional tire height of the second option. My car is a 2009 E90 sedan with sport package and stock ride height. Is anyone running the Style 230 with either of these combinations without clearance problems? |

Why not 235/35 + 265/30?

Based on the TireRack specs, the 265-30-19 Michelin Pilot Super Sports are 2/10ths of an inch shorter that the 235's on the front. The 275's are slightly taller than the 235's by 1/10th of an inch. This provides only a 3 rpm variation front to back and appears to be a better fitment match to the 235's.

But then your rear tires are 40mm wider than the front while the rear rims are only 25mm wider than the front (if that makes sense ) I personally would do 225/35/19 255/30/19 especially since those tires run wide.

+1. This sounds about right. This is the size we recommend on our wheels. I'm not 100% sure about your OEMs.

Remmib knows a lot about this stuff....
I run this exact size, but not in a PSS. I would not INCREASE the stagger.... I am trying to reduce the stagger to increase handling. don't go 225 / 275 - that will increase your understeer and balance. Keep with 235/265 as remmib recommends - that will give lots of rim protection as the PSS does fit wide. When you get them, post pics please (and a review) Subscribing.

what size wheels and brand did you go with? I am getting my 230 next week.
I need to decide between the 225/255 vs 235/265 michelin super sports. I am lowered on coils and would like to get as flush as possible. Was thinking 225/255 was the way to go for a lowered car since the Michelins run wide. Your feedback is appreciated. |

Can anybody post pics of a Michelin PSS on 230 stock 19s
for the front: 225/35/19 235/35/19 245/35/19 (I don't think anybody can make this fit) and for the rear 255/30/19 265/30/19 275/30/19 (I don't think anybody can make this fit) My GUESS is that going 2 sizes up on the 230s with a wide running PSS is a mistake for handling, rubbing and overall - it is just too big. This is a GUESS. I would think you would need to go with a 8.5" and a 9.5" or 10" rim to make the 2 sizes up fit PROPERLY to ensure the handling is the way we would want. It has to be better handling, not just to have wider tires on - in my opinion.

DaFish -
How do you like the 235/265 setup you have now? How much are you lowered? I like the idea of the 235/265 for extra rim protection.. I just dont wanna rub since I know the PSS is a little on the wide side. |

I would really like to see the 235/265 PSS on the 230 because that is what I am going to in the spring. I have the Dinan Stage 3 - .5 inch on the rear, and no drop on the front due to the fact I have camber plates. With the camber plates and M3 front wishbones, I could go much bigger RIMS on the front, but not bigger tires on the 230s with the PSSs.... I think.

I ordered the 225/255 setup. Should have them installed this friday afternoon.
Wanted the 235/265 but didnt want to spend 3-4 hundred more dollars to find out they will rub. When they wear out I will upgrade the size if I feel like they will fit without rubbing. I plan on spacing them out as flush as possible. Then barely tucking the top of the rear tire and then leaving about 1/2 finger fender gap on fronts. I will send ya a picture when I get a chance. Gonna mess with suspension Friday night and get an alignment saturday morning. |
