Aero front lip...
am i right in thinking the oem aero front lip i've ordered with my car is just a thin piece of stick-on plastic? cuz the dealer is gonna charge me an extra £15 per month for 3 years (550 quid!) for it...
now, even on the heavy side i'd have said: lip : £150 paint : £80 labour: £60 so thinking about it i'm paying a real hefty sum for something quite negligable... what sort of money have other aero-front owners been charged? (might try and source one myself and get my trusty bodyshop to do it...) 550 QUID! |

The carbon fibre job is £320 inc. VAT plus fitting but obviously doesn't require painting.
The carbon fibre rear spoiler is £250 inc. VAT plus fitting. I've just arranged a painted ABS spoiler fitted for £240 inc VAT from my local dealer. Chris

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, a fancy name for a flexible plastic.

hmmm i am a big fan of carbon fibre coming from a performance honda background, but i dont think itd go with the bmw image i really dont (i know a lot of people are going to disagree with this but i see my car as a shit hot sporty (but esentially business orientated) coupe... what do you think? reckon a CF lip would look good on sparling graphite? considering there is NO other CF on the car?
theres another thing, im a fan of balance and if i was going to bling my car (and i dont meen shiny chrome spinners bling) then i'd do CF OEM front lip, CF hartge spoiler, gunmetal polished rim BBS wheels or summat like that to tie it all together, then it'd look fantasic, but in an entirely different way to the more subtle professional elegance of how the car will look all stock but with a subtle auro lip (in SG)... no? |

I've only seen the carbon front spoiler fitted to a sparking graphite car and it did look good. I think it suits the darker colours better. I wasn't sure about it for our Le Mans blue though, I think it might be too much of a contrast.
Regards Chris

I agree with Chris the carbon fibre looks odd on light coloured cars but suits the dark colours like SG and Black really well
