Thanks guys.

My camera was setup on a tripod and was taking pictures every 5 secs.

So I checked my videos... lapping 4 to 5 seconds faster than last year in June. Only difference was my brake pads. Oh and practice.

I am also 4 to 5 seconds slower than MaxL based on his late May video. Max is quick.

You were faster than me in the rain, though. My time was about ~1.5 seconds better this time than in that video - 1.39.3 actual lap (with a bit of passing) and 1.38.4 theoretical lap if I combine pieces from 3 different laps to get a clean one (I know it does not count :-)) Better brakes definitely helped, as well as warmer track surface.

LOL... if only a tripod could pan with the car to make the scenery blurred...

He takes nice pics

I went to try out a few exotic cars in Las Vegas... (but mainly went for a wedding)

tried out a Nissan GT-R, a 911 Carrera S, a McLaren MP4-12c and a Ferrari 430 Scuderia

The McLaren was 1.1 seconds faster than the Ferrari which was 5.5 seconds faster than the Porsche who was 1.5 second faster than the Nissan.

I had the most fun with the Ferrari.

2 videos from Exotics racing in Las Vegas.

McLaren MP4-12C

and Ferrari 430 Scuderia

Cool videos. Surprised to see Nissan to be the slowest.

The Nissan should be spanking the 911s.

Especially since its such an easy car to drive at 10 out of 10 limit.

I'm curious did they let you drive with Nannies off?

Just saw the 2 videos ...

You lucky bastard I'm so jealous!

The Ferrari had the sickest sounding exhaust. It was a beautiful symphony. Wow what a sound!!!

So how did you like the paddle shifting? I'm assuming even the Porsche was PDK?

expensive... but worth it. I wouldn't go every week... but once a year with new cars... why not? Ok, maybe every other year.

They keep nannies on... you don't get enough laps with these supercars to go test the limits. If I would do 15+ laps, then having nannies on would be a nuisance.

I agree, the GT-R would be quicker but I was learning the track with it.

They all had either PDK (Porsche), Dual-Clutch (Nissan), Semi-automatic "Superfast2" (Ferrari) and DCG "SSG" (McLaren).

I really could get used to it. I would miss the regular manual though. Maybe keep my M forever for nostalgia reasons.

I tried an older Carrera S the previous evening on the streets and it had the slower tiptronic crap. That was a complete other thing. Sooo slow to respond.

still cant get used to the fact that you're lapping around without a helmet. lol... so i guess if you ever get a Scuderia or a Mclaren, you'll need to put in some custom seat mounts to lower the seat down. :thump:

i had the best time in the scud as well... too bad i didn't get a chance to try the mclaren. would have been fun.

I had difficulty getting a proper seating position in the GTR.. I asked for it back for the other cars. The instructor told me not to bother so I didn't even try.

I wish I had the 458 to compare directly to the McLaren since they are more closely matched.

Would have been nice to try a GT3 instead of a Carrera S.

How was the Lambo?

Sometime in July.

I checked with Billy and they still haven't even started building it.

I used the Porsche PDK system last year in Calabogie and also tried out my friends gTR a well.

I have to say the M DCT is sick fast and shoots you forward and I didn't even try S6. If you haven't driven an Mdct you can try out mine when I get it.

lambo transmission was very jerky. its not smooth at all. it was the jerkiest transmission of all the cars i drove. the GTR and the SLS has DCT transmissions so they were smooth as expected. but even the scud was smoother than the lambo. that was definitely a surprise. every time you upshift or down shift you get a slap in the back. handling was awesome though. i imagine it would be closely matched to an italia or mclaren, if you can forgive the clumsy transmission.

we need to go for a meet and trade cars. mine is not going to happen until end of august though. definitely curious how different the new EDC is compared to mine. although i am still surprised that you picked DCT.... still thought you're a manual kind of guy... i know its faster and everything, but you already have an S4 for that right? haha

I love stick but after test driving DCT I was sold on it. It's much much quicker than my DCT in the S4. Also what's cool about the Mdct is it slides back on a hill like a true stick would in neutral.

Eventually when I ever change the S4 I will go back to stick on my daily.

Schedule the meet and I'll be there
