Top Gear USA Canceled?

This is two-day old news, so it's probably been posted already, but is this confirmed? Top Gear is not coming to NBC now?

Saw it got canceled. It's all because Knight Rider failed and was too expensive or something so NBC hasn't wanted to spend too much on new shows.

It was Top Gear with new people. Adam Carolla was to host.

And why is the failure of Knight Rider the reason that TG is canceled?

That's very lame excuse. Does anybody thought that Knight Rider would NOT be a failure? I watched the first episode for 20 minutes and I had thoughts of suicide. It basically was a 30-minutes commercial for Ford.

Not cancelled. Just not gonna be on basic cable. They're waiting for some other station to pick it up, seeing as NBC chose not to air it.

I would like to see an American version to test cars with US specs but IMHO what makes TG so good is the British humor the 3 hosts. I have a feeling it will not be the same

NBC is run by an idiot. No, seriously, it is. Jeff Zucker is an idiot. His IQ is something like 92.

Actually, the head idiot at NBC who is most likely responsible for this is Ben Silverman. The guy is a joke, even his fellow idiots think he's fairly dim. I mean, it takes a special kind of stupid to run the top network into the ground, putting into a solid 4th place.

I was there, too. It had a lot of potential. Even David Hasslehoff was funny, he was a great first guest.

I'm glad it got cancelled. Americans who don't know about the real top gear might like it, but we all know that Adam Corolla has nothing on Jeremy Clarkson. They should just work to broadcast British Top Gear on American TV and leave it at that.

Yea...I've heard it got cancelled too...dunno why. You guys probably know more than I do. I kinda scratched my head when I heard Adam Carolla was the host too...but the more I think about it...he does kinda fit. Jay Leno would be awesome on there too....but that's just IMHO.

Jay Leno was asked, and he declined. Stating that Cars are his hobby, and he didn't want his hobby to become his job.

I tried to watch Top Gear (Aus) and decided Top gear blows without Clarkson, Hammond & Mae. The thought of Adam Corolla hosting it made me cringe.

I like Adam, but Clarkson's brand of humor, hell British humor, is on another level entirely.

Plus, what would have been their shtick? Top Gear has exotic cars driven in European locations. Even their budget cars come across as kind of exotic to us Amercans.

Trust me, after their 10th review of another vette or the (POS) 300 or worse, a vintage ford

Then the tricked out "import nights", followed by American muscle section, then lowriders, monster trucks, famous sports stars SUV's taken a nice cruise down the turnpike
