OMG... what a retard...

Man... yesterday at 11:00am I was leaving my school to drop off some friends at their houses (I promised to give them a ride home) So im driving, minding my own business when I stop at a red light. We sat there for a few seconds in complete silence and then we hear this strange squealing noise (but it seemed quiet, so we payed no attention to it) then another 3 seconds later an Idiot rear-ends me and flings me across the entire damn intersection. (Luckly there were no cars in the middle of the intersection or I would have been screwed...) So my 2 passengers and I get out of my car like "OMG what the fuck was that..." and I look backwards to see a 91 VW Jetta completely smashed in leaking all kinds of fluid. So the idiot finally gets out of his car, and guess what... it was my retarded friend who I sit with at lunch. And I was like "Jordan, WTF happened?!?!" and he replies "I saw you ahead so I tried to catch up with you... I thought you were gonna run the light so I didnt slow down." :

Anyway... my car has this nice car sized dent in the back of it... and I just wanted to vent a little... OMG what a retard...

But atleast the good thing was a lot of other bystandars came to help us out. I was all disoriented after the hit (cause he hit me at like 35 mph) And there was this one old man who was really helpful (unfortuntely I wasn't able to thank him) but he called the police, ambulance and everything... so that was good.

But yeah... just venting some of my built up frustration with my IDIOT friend... sigh...

Well... yes and no... Cause first off, he never was really my 'friend' to beign with... we just always sat together at lunch since I changed schools... ANd I cant be completely mad at him because A) He admitted to fucking up and his insurance is gonna pay for all of it. and B) Atleast I still have a car... His seriously looks like it hit a fucking wall.

And besides... im not one to excomunicate someone for a mistake... Yeah... im without a car for a little while... (Hopefully, and this is a long shot knowing my dealership, they will give me a loaner car for the meantime) And in a funny way... one miniscule good think came out of this... My friends older sister came to pick him up after the crash and she thought I was hot and wants to go to Homecoming with me, lol. Honestly, that made my day, lol.

Sigh... Well... I decided to resurrect my thread with an update on my car. Well... Its been 2 weeks since my car little car accident and I finally found out some stuff about my car. As it turns out... being hit at 45mph (he admitted to me he was goin around 45, not 35) can actually bend the frame of a BMW, lol. So the rear part of my frame is bent. They explained something about a unibody frame saying how the car is made of basically three frame parts, the front, the center and the rear. And that maybe they can repair/replace the rear part of my car's frame for under 70% of the cars total value. Ill probably find out the final verdict on my car tomorrow. SO if im lucky it will be fine and it will get fixed. If not... it gets totalled and I am stuck without a car for a while until I can afford to buy a new one. And if/when I get a new car, it probably wont be a BMW. What a bummer... lol.

If totaled, insurance will only cover up to the book value of the car at the time the claim is settled. If that value covers at least what you owe, you're ok. If not, then you're screwed and have to immediately pay the balance of the loan out of pocket since most lenders will call in the note at that point since their collateral no longer exists. For most people that have to do that, that would have been their DP money and they have save up more money and "downgrade" to get into something. Unless you purchased 3rd party insurance at the time of purchase that covers the balance difference in those scenarios.

It's a crappy situation to be in. Good luck with everything.

Haha, thanks everyone for all your support. Hopefully my car problems will be settled soon. I just got a preliminary estimate for the repairs coming in at 17,850 dollars, which is A LOT, lol. And only about 4 thousand dollars shy of being considered a total loss. (I think) lol. Hopefully by sometime tomorrow they will have a final plan on my car and hopefully sometime in the next week I can FINALLY get a loaner car, lol.

Haha, exactly. It is a crappy position to be in, lol. But luckily We do have a 3rd party insurance, so any remaining balance will be covered for it it comes to that.

Haha, unfortunatley... my BMW didn't come with BMW assist, lol. It would have been nice to recieve a call over the speakers like that though, lol, since I had no idea what to do.
