The motor show is at the airport, probably 15 mins walk to the exhibition.

I always go skiing when the show is on, the traffic around the airport is always carnage, but you won't need to worry about that.

Easily do-able in a day.

Yes, you can definitely do fly there and back and do the show in a day! I did this exact trip last year.

I normally drive but didn't have the time last year so I flew instead.....it's a long day mind, especially if you have any kind of drive either side to an appropriate UK airport!

Can't seem to find a flight in and out of the same UK airport that gives me more than about 4 hours at the show for sensible money but you have got me thinking now so am now looking at the Paris show in September doing Eurostar there and back same day.

Have fun guys.

There are cheap flights with BA to/from Gatwick and also Easyjet from Stansted would give you a full (long) day there for under £70.

Considering this myself now too! Anyone fancy meeting up there?

This sounds like a great opportunity for a night out.

Flight into Geneva for lunchtime, afternoon at the show, early evening apres-ski beers, food, beers, entertaining club, kebab, crash in cheap EUR50 2 star Geneva hotel*

Did something similar with some mates in Frankfurt about 10 years ago - great fun.

Not sure any of the dates will fit for me, but its EUR25 each way from Toulouse at the moment. Tempting!

(* do cheap hotels and geneva go together? I'm sure something could be found - Dave? Zurich?)

Went out in Geneva for a night with a french girl a while back, and she booked us into a F1 just over the border. Only a taxi ride away. Takes a bit of getting your head around - grabbing a taxi back to another country.

In Geneva or Switzerland there are no cheap hotels.

D.

EDIT : Found it !

http://www.hotelf1.com/gb/hotel-2257...re/index.shtml 35 Euros.

Would it be busier at the weekends though? I went to the Paris motorshow in 2010 and by the afternoon it was so packed you couldn't get on any of the stands.
