Chicago area deliveries are processed in NYC. My ED vehicle should be here around 6/8, yours should arrive a few days before that.

Oh...really! hmm...not sure why my CA says it got on a truck only today.

Maybe I should expect it sooner then (even though he says 6/8).

Negative. I'm in limbo as well, and while my CA is a nice guy, he has only ever done one ED before, so he's not exactly up to speed on the whole process. I dropped the car off in Munich on 5/7, and Thomas said at that time it was running about 6 weeks from drop off to redelivery, which would take me to approx. 6/18. Since Patriot got to the port on 5/26, that would allow about 2 weeks for VPC/customs and 1 week for transport from NJ to my dealer in MA, which seems about right. With any luck, they may be able to cut a few days off of customs and/or transport, so an optimistic assessment would say that I might get it back by the end of next week.

Retail means the car's at your dealer... I'd call them up if I were you.

I trust Irv, but I worry that his dealership might be leading me on and letting other people test drive my car. It's not like there are a lot of 6MT 335i E93s around...

Well, the car is definitely not at the dealer, and it's been listed as "Retail" pretty much since the Patriot arrived in the NJ port. The 800 # still lists it as being in transit. I know that the public BMW tracking systems are notoriously bad at keeping track of ED cars though. Still, the fact that OC is listing your as having cleared customs is a good sign.

I wouldn't worry about Irv letting people drive your car- he seems on the up and up.

I keep telling myself... just a few more days...

I stand corrected. My CA just called to tell me that the car was just unloaded this morning. It is being prepped this afternoon, and he's going to see if I can pick it up this evening. Otherwise, I should have it in hand by tomorrow!

Congratulations!

Was it the owner's circle website that was telling you retail? (i.e. it says "at BMW center"). Mine still says at the VPC, and the 800 number still says in transit...

Thanks! I'll try to get some pics up by the end of the week.

It was the OC that said "Retail" (and yes, it says "Retail," not "at BMW Center"). As of this morning, the 800 number still says "in transit." If this is any indication, yours is probably on its way to Chicago right now!

Just got off the phone with Irv - he pulled a more detailed report. Apparently my car's scheduled to be trucked from the VPC on 6/13, arriving in Chicago 6/16.

I thought I heard it was Charleston... Actually I've seen multiple people from Chicago who go through Charleston and never NYC. Can anyone else confirm this? Or can you confirm this?

Mine was definitely processed in NYC, your account is the first I've heard of Chicago deliveries being processed in Charleston.

The VPC ended up fixing the paint chip, but not the scraped bumper (it was on the underside and invisible unless you know where to look and have the car up on a lift). I'm a little annoyed that the German bug residue was never washed off (I used a high-pressure rinse without soap prior to dropping off), but no big deal...
