But, BobbyBimmer, just think how many fun test-drives the dealer would be able to take people out in your nice new car in while you're away in Italy?

I know he's smart enough not to do that, but being a new dealer he only has 1 coupe on the lot right now a stripped down 328. If I were him, I would love to put out a 335i Sapphire Black w/Saddle Brown interior and all the major options, just so people could look at it and sit in it and see what they think. Sorry mister & mrs customer you cant test drive it because it's sold, but feel free to rub your hands along the body and dirt scratch it and see if your kids fit in the back seat, etc. Holy Shit am I paranoid or what. It's just that I am anal about my cars my babies |

It'll be trucked from the VPC to dealerships (even though TAGUS' next stop is Tacoma!)
Can't tell you the name though. Although, that's one more thing we could track! <G> |

Odds are pretty good that you'll get to pick it up before you go, even if it is then stuck in your garage with only 10 miles on it for a couple of weeks! Failing that, I'd just tell your dealer that you want it kept off the lot, not driven at all, and untouched by any non-dealership employee until you get back. |

Not sure if you guys have found this, but I was checking out the free version of aislive and came across this. I had no idea that Panama was viewable using the free version. Anyways, if I'm not the only person that did not realize this, here's the link: http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.as...ama%20Overview

Great find! The latest pics do show TAGUS in what I suspect is a mooring position (right next to CROWLEY AMBASSADOR), so I think we're waiting until tomorrow now.

Yeah, especially since Boyds thinks we're transiting tomorrow. Also, if you look up the Manzanillo terminal website, it is located on the Atlantic side of the canal. So, it makes sense that we'd be in port there today (the 23rd), reconciling the difference with the W&W website.

So, I guess the real question is - does it really take 8 days to go from the Pacific side of the canal to Hueneme, or does that allow for some "slack" to cross the canal?
It's 2,657 nautical miles as the crow flies from Panama City (closest I could find on the tool I used) to Port Hueneme. Assuming an average speed of 16 knots (TAGUS was actually doing 17 knots when she left the AIS system in the UK) that's 6.9 days |

If you look at past voyages from Manzanillo to Port Hueneme on the W&W website, those include the day for the Canal transit because Manzanillo is on the Atlantic side.

Well, W&W thinks we've left Manzanillo. Maybe the ship repositions to a queue before going through the canal?

Dammit, you beat me to it... AIS still shows it sitting in the Cristobal Anchorages (although AIS info is delayed)... hopefully Tagus has left and is on it's way through the canal... F5, F5, F5, F5, F5...

Haha. You get the props of the day though for finding the free AIS info. (I saw a footnote on the free AIS site saying their data is delayed at least an hour.) So, Tagus may have sailed but their site hasn't updated yet.
We may have a better idea about when we are going through the canal whenever Boyd's updates their booking slot info. If we disappear from their list, I'd guess that means we got that remaining slot on the 23rd. They seem to update around 3:30 EDT. Cheers to obsession.

I'm going to have to take up smoking soon. Honestly, I feel like a 6 year old on Christmas eve. Let's hope that she's already sailed - there didn't seem to be much southbound traffic. The true sadness prize goes to the first person to get a picture on here: http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html |

Excitingly the AISlive picture just updated. TAGUS went green (which means she's under way)

Tagus just turned green on AIS. Does that mean she's underway?
I can't take this anymore. Thank god for tabbed browsing.
