Unplug headlight harness

It is possible to unplug the headlight and plug the factory headlight plug (harness) into a different, not installed headlight to make sure my FRM2 and new headlight are working properly before I pull the bumper?

Or is the only way to get that plug off to remove the bumper and remove the entire headlight housing?

Yes. from the top of the headlight with hood open you can pull out the connector and has long enough reach to plug in replacing headlights before pulling off bumper and removing headlight for final install
