Wheels vs. Suspension

So the plan is to spend about $2000 this summer on my car. I'm on the fence right now between buying a set of 19" black Beyern Mesh wheels or getting a set of KW coilovers. The cost of both will be relatively equal, as I work at the dealership and don't have to worry about labor costs. So what would you guys do? Or would you choose something different altogether?

I would choose the kW's (i have the V2's myself and i love 'em). This will change the stance of your car and the feel, so you get a visual enhancement + the best ride out there. Besides, do you reeaaaally like the beyerns? put some 10mm spacers on the rear wheels for now to fill out the fenders and wait til you find a wheel that is as high quality as kw's.

I have my ways. Should I choose to get the wheels, I'll have "flats" monthly and pay the tires off with my road hazard insurance. One of the many perks of working for your car's company.

If you have ZSP on your 328i, get the wheels - if not, KWs.

depends . if you get KW's you you ride will look better and handle better.. Yet, most people who don't own bmw's or dont know much about cares wont really notice it.

if you get wheels, your ride will probably still be the same (depending on tires).. but you will have a taller ride.. but, you will get more attention from people cause they see you got some nice mesh rims with rims on it..

if you got nice OEM wheels already go for the KW's..if you got shit wheels like what i got (323i) then go for the wheels

Agreed......... A GREED. Hope you enjoy. PS make sure you teach you kids about your tactics.

Why not just buy something you can afford? I know it sounds kind of crazy, but maybe thats the best answer.

Actually, I meant the road hazard insurance by BMW, which is a flat rate for everybody. That's the reason I said it's good to work for your car's company.

Problem with that is the "flat rate" is very likely based on claims history. The higher the claims, the higher the "flat rate" will become over time. Any insurance is priced based on claims history/expected payouts plus profit margin.

Anyway, I'm not going to lecture... no one is an angel, including me.

get the V2's and push out the rears.

Here is my car w/ the stock sport wheels and the coilovers in. The rear fenders are rolled so the rear wheels look even more tucked in. With some 15mm spacers it would look really nice.
