How to flash N52B30OL Tune to freshly 3IM'd 328i?

Hi, everybody! (Hi, Dr. Nick...)

Last night I successfully installed my three-stage intake manifold. Everything went smoothly and the car runs well.

The forumite who sold me the manifold told me I could flash my car with the N52B30OL tune and all would be good. I know there are some vendors who provide that service, but this evening I've been left hanging and I'm pretty antsy.

I wonder: does anyone have any links to resources that would help me learn how to flash the car myself?

I've got the basic INPA setup working and can read my error codes etc, and have what seems to be the standard software suite. I also have the daten files, both lightweight and heavyweight. But don't really know where to go from here.

I'm also not yet ready to buy a fancy tune from other vendors. I'm still new to E90s but it seems like my best bet there would be to buy some MILVs and get the BPC tune. However, I wasn't planning on pulling the VC until I need to, and my exhaust plans are still undecided.

I recognize there's a lot to learn here. Thanks for any advice or direction anyone can give!

I'm in the same boat, except I haven't installed the 3IM in my '12 328iT yet.

I know you already asked me in a PM, but this has been up for a little while on bimmerlabs - I might be missing a couple models (not sure I have one for the 328xi, but it would be easy to make), but most E90s should be covered.

You can't just flash the N52B30OL tune for the 328i because no such tune ever existed (the 330i runs on MSV70, not MSV80). We re-created a '330i' tune for the 328i based on the stock parameters. Also even if a stock tune existed for the 328i, you couldn't flash it because the 'power class' wouldn't match, and it would run in limp mode.

It's free because it's sort of a 'teaser' tune - although the performance is likely pretty close to some of the lesser tunes out there.

hassmaschine, thanks again for your help last night!

The European N52 330i cars used the MSV80 (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=12_1394).

Would that one work?

Also could you clarify what the "RSA delete" is? I wasn't able to find much last night outside of that phrase.

No, that won't work - the power class is wrong. it will run in limp mode. Also the euro cars have a lot of different settings - which is why we didn't base it on those files.

Modern BMW computers are encrypted with a 1024 bit RSA signature. You can't flash a modified file unless you either A) Bypass the RSA signature validation or B) Somehow get BMW's private key (which is nearly impossible). Bypassing RSA allows the modified files to be flashed.

Been running Hass' tune for a month now. Zero issues. Flashing it was cake, the car rips and Hass was quick to respond.

For reference I had a fresh install of BMW standard tools along with the updated DATENs from BimmerGeek's website. Flashed with Bimmergeek's K+DCAN cable.
