Procede V4 and inspection

I have to go get my car inspected this week in NC and I'm running the new procede beta maps and catless DP's. My question is with the new can clear feature I should turn that off and adjust my O2 modifier like i used to do on the early maps so that my OBD2 readiness can be read and I don't throw the O2 codes? I tried just turning off the canclear and going in on valet mod, but my O2 codes got thrown. Thanks for any confirmation if this is the proper approach or if I'm doing it wrong.

I think you should keep the canclear enabled even on the valet mode ..

as far as i know is , only when you take it to the dealer , you disable canclear - valet mode so it wont confuse the diagnostic tools like GT1 for example ..

maybe I'm mistaken so someone will get more accurate info ..maybe Shiv

you guys in US , when you do the inspection ,, do they plug a scan tool and read the faults ??? , or they just do the emission test as well as the car body and tires etc etc...

well in NC they do an OBD2 scan, If I do the way that beta17 showed on the vishnu site I throw O2 codes and fail the inspection. If I leave Canclear active the OBD2 inspection can not get the data as canclear resets readiness. Thus my question on how to do this so that I can get through without having to remove my DP's.

Canclear set to 0 and o2 modifiers set to 50% (or in some cases even lower value) and no need for switching to valet, LEAVE it on map 1 and not valet then make sure the OBD readiness codes for cat emissions are ready...I just got my inspection two weeks ago...I used this thread to make sure my OBD was clear to get the inspection to pass...

just put it on map 0 and turn canclear off you should be good to go. i just came from dealer for program update that is under open campaign/recall programming (SIB 13 09 10 N54 DME Program). they didn't bother asking about the tune at all and program was uploaded in a matter of 30 minutes or so...

Some OBDII devices will not connect with Procede on Map 1 or 2, due to CAN Bus integration.

Your best bet:
Map 0
Canclear off
O2 modifier set to 50% (or less... may have to adjust)
Drive until OBDII readiness is set (can verify with generic code reader)
Verify that with readiness set you have no codes

readiness set + no codes = good to go for OBDII emissions test

If you throw a code again when readiness is set, adjust O2 modifier, delete code, and drive until readiness is set again (repeat).

Good luck.

We don't have emissions or inspections in Florida!!

They did away with it like 8-10 years ago. They did the environmental impact and studies and determined that it was a complete waste of money and time.

All of the old gas guzzling behemoths with no emission gear are off the roads now.

So we save our $40/yr. and 1hr of time sitting in a line of cars.

Down here, they just did a visual inspection under the car with a mirror to ensure CATS etc..

They also had you put the car up on a dyno/wheel thing. They would put the sensor in the tailpipe, and you would run the car up to a few thousand RPMs, then done if I remember correctly.

The down side, you should see some of the cars on the road down here, no doors etc...I can see some value to ensuring people's cars are properly maintained for safety purposes.

That's exactly what we do here in Dubai ,, but they don't even check the cats , they put a sensor in the exhaust tips on idle for a few seconds ...

this year ,,, we can renew the annual registration online ,, and we receive the registration card by mail ,,,

Chefcg1: good luck dude ,, the guys did their best to give you the right info ,,, keep us updated how was it ..

well I'm having some issues. I have diabled canclear and set the O2 modifier to what I used to set it at which was 35% and keep throwing code 11372 (Lambda probe in front of catalytic converter 2, control failure or cable transmission failure?) & 11313 (Lamba probe in front of cat 1, trimming control). Thinking that the modifier is to strong I keep going up in % and now I'm at 60% and still throwing the codes. Any one have aany ideas? Keep moving up in %?

I assume you cleared the codes and then drove the car to find these codes again right? Also what version of the software for the DME are you running...Maybe someone with the same software can tell you what to set the modifier to....In my car I am still running one of the earliest prog 27.xx and I know the earlier version of programs for the ECU are not as finicky as the newer softwares with respect to cats and emissions.....hope someone can chime in and help you...

Hmm. Mine's 01/08 build never been reflashed. I set mine to 50% and leave canclear on. With the $50 generic OBDII reader I see no codes and all readiness parameters are set.

yeah I cleared each time and kept moving up at 5% increments. Software I'm not sure. I just got flashed for HPFP so i guess it probably is the newest version. For now I will keep trying till it stops or I'm back at 100%.

I think you are on the right track. Lambada code normally means the difference between upsteam and downstream O2 sensor output is too high(not rational). Keep raising your O2 modifier setting.
