Here you go...... Once it is too dark pics don't come out that well..... On these pictures you can see the brightness level pretty well.

Ordered the 796 switch from crowne auto today.
$54 for the switch $14.00 for shipping. They have it in stock and said I should have it on Monday or Tuesday at the latest..I can't wait to put this thing in.
I have the switch coming in and GP Thunder Super White Angel eyes, and fog light bulbs coming in also. I also ordered M-Tech spot pedals and a full carbon roudel kit.

Feels like xmas all over again.

Nice +1 for another Seattle member! :rocks:

PS: I did the same BTW, ordered the switch before the car even showed up.

First of all, I would like to thanks “Brianly” for a great “DIY” thread.

Also, thank you “Mixx2000”, a.k.a. “JD” at Crown BMW for a smooth and fast transaction and a great price on BMW genuine parts. :rocks:

I thought that Brianly thread needed a couple more pics to show how easy it is to pull the trim pieces off.

Tools needed:

- COSTCO membership card
- UNITED Frequent Flyer card
- Butter knife from Laguiole

As mentioned, start from the speedometer side. Slide in one card, then the other, then the butter knife in between the two plastic cards.

The trim comes out easily.

Follow the other instructions from Brianly and you will be done in less than 10 minutes. Make sure your switch is set on “off” before you do the swap.

Here is the end result:

I cannot guarantee that other tools than the ones above will work. Experiment at your own risks!

================================================== ===========================

FOR SALE:
- 1 Barely used (1,500 miles) E92 light switch
- 1 COSTCO membership card
- 1 UNITED Frequent Flyer card
- 1 Butter knife from Laguiole

Nice idea with the double cards, safer on the trim I'd imagine, than just some wedging tool alone.

Mine just got shipped the other day

I used a butter knife . Speaking of which, if the police search my car, and find that... would it be suspicious? lol

Nope. I didn't even use tools for the trim, just worked it off with my own two hands. The whole diy took about five minutes tops.
