335i beats BMW motorcycle
Was cruising Hiway 1 north of Big Sur with g/f. Enjoying new JB4 and DCI (love that turbo wooooosh :-). Had been trailing a newish BMW M/C riding two up (guessing it was a K1200RS or so). Finally came to long straightaway and decided it was time (I was in Map 1). Went to pass at WOT and M/C decided it was time to test me. I SLOWLY pulled away as speeds rose. Finally made pass. Afterwards I apologized (with a grin on my face) to g/f. She told me "Now we can check that off the list...". Priceless.

Not on Bir Sur he was nice to you instead smoking you off on his 1200cc bike.

Of all the things that have never happened, this is one of them. Sure you passed him, but I guarantee you he simply stopped trying/never started to begin with.

For one, change the thread title- it's misleading (clicked this out of concern, only to find that it's some stupidity).
For two, you shouldn't be playing with bikes on the road- it's dangerous and stupid. I don't care if the bike is popping wheelies in front of me- I just let them go and give them a wide berth. What if you had hit him and killed him?? Then you can cross earning a life sentence behind bars off your list too! Bike riders have enough trouble on the road without adding bullshit and stupidity to the mix. Grow up. Last edited by Dark_Knight_335; 11-26-2012 at 11:22 AM.. |

Till 100mph. I've raced several 600's on the freeway's down in San Diego and its the same result everytime, the bike takes off and then I catch up and say bye.

Well, first of all I own an R1200GS. Maybe not as fast as his bike, but same engine... Second he was two up with a passenger (which makes a BIG difference in his acceleration). Third, he was definitely trying although he may have let up after triple digits but it was a slow steady pull for me the whole way - probably took 10 seconds to pass him.

The bike having a passenger makes a huge difference. Yes it affects his acceleration along with everything else including him trying to drive fairly safe so he didn't throw his passenger off the back. I'm sure if he was by himself he would've taken off and that would've been that. I know what you mean though and I'm sure it was still fun.

Lol I've had a few bmw's and this 335i is the fastest. I've also owned 14 bikes. All sports bikes ranging from 600- 1000cc. ANY i reapeat ANY of my 600cc bikes would have killed my 335i. jb4 or not. Right now I ride an 05 yamaha R1. (1000cc) and you can't even begin to compare it with any car. 0-60 in under 3 seconds and triple digits speeds in a few more.
Just to give you an idea- on my r1 (and most 1000cc sportsbike's around the same) the first gear redlines at 104mph (stock) and you have 5 gears after that.

So do you really think your car can beat these stats, of the k1200rs? 0-60mph 3.9 sec. and 1/4 mile at 11.28 secs ? |
