Brake Pads & Discs Renewal

Might be in for replacing the pads and discs soon. BMW are quoting me some ridonkulous £500 for the just the pads and sensors (all round) minus the discs.

1. If I go down an independent route (indy specialist or otherwise), will this affect my BMWFSH?

2. Is this service from the stealers generate a stamp in the booklet?

3. If I go with no.1, what pads and discs should I go for and where's a competitive place to purchase? How much should I expect to pay?

Sorry to ask if it's been beaten to death!

Its a 320D.

Thanks one and all!

My tech recommended ceramic pads. How do they feel in really cold weather?

I got quoted $1100 CAD for discs, pads and sensors including labor at dealer. Not bad...

Im going with aftermarket rotors/pads/sensors, and getting the dealer to just do install. Its going to run me about $1000 CAD in total. Unless I decide to do the install myself in which case it should be $800.

Akebono euro ceramic pads are a good option, ill be going with the EBC Redstuff though since I want to take my car to the track this summer atleast once.

I am using the Akebono Euro ceramics. They don't stop as aggressively as the factory pads - less bite - but they are completely DUST FREE and still will slow the car well. They are not suitable for hard driving and track use, though.
