******************* TURNS OUT THE PREVIOUS OWNER OF THE CAR HAD BYPASSED ONE OF THE BOOST SOLENOIDS**********************

Car goes into limp when pushing 3k+ rpm in 3/4/6 gear.
Consistently pulling this 30FE code, what is causing this?

I can hear what sounds like the waste gate rattling upon deceleration when the car goes into limp.

No tune in car

Have you ever adjusted the actuator rods to alleviate wastegate rattle? Sounds like the wastegates are closing too soon.

Ok. What's your milage? It could be bad boost solenoids, sticking wastegates, turbo v-band clamp in the way of the wastegate actuator arms, clogged vac canisters, etc.

The only things I can really think of that could cause this would be something with one of the boost-control solenoid valves , or mechanical jamming of the wastegate. Even then, usually it is a 30FF (boost too low) that is stored when the wastegates are mechanically jamming. I've never seen one cause overboost faults.

You're going to have to get your hands dirty, lol. The rear turbo is the one I see jamming most often, and it's pretty easy to access the wastegate mechanism. You should be able to reach down (with a cold engine) and move the wastegate valve through it's travel. It should be smooth. You can also use a hand help vacuum pump to manually activate the actuator and watch it move through it's travel. The front one is pretty hard to see, though.

Unless someone removed/installed the cats in the past, the V-band shouldn't be in the way of the wastegate mechanism.

The potential issues mentioned be me and the others are really the only things that could cause this. Now you need to do the legwork and figure out what it is. If you aren't comfortable doing these type of checks, you might want to take the car to someone who specializes in these cars for an opinion.

Any way to test the boost solenoids? I can't seem to find any tutorials on how to even get to the part.

I can send you a flowchart for vacuum readings at various points in the N54 turbo vacuum control system. It's pretty helpful in determining what the vacuum should be and when. PM me your email address if you're interested.

Problem solved... Looks like the previous owner who ran an older vishnu tune on it bypassed one of the boost solenoids.
